Don't know if thats an option, when a call comes in it cuts off data (just like you can't use data connection to brows internet or anything while on talking on the phone) its a Verizon thing

cmon...really?

there has to be a way to do this..

Are you talking about notification sounds or the actual phone call sound? Because if you're talking about a call cutting off the music, I am pretty sure there is no way to stop that. Android probably deduces that a phone call takes precedence over music playing.

you could always get google voice and enable a do not disturb action to not have the phone ring for however long you wanted to listen to your music for. Please don't ask what Google voice is

Go into Settings, Sounds & Display Settings, and check "Silent Mode." You'll see that it silences all sounds except media & alarms.

answer no it will not stop the call from coming in. It will only silence the ringer. Also silent mode can be accessed by long pressing the power button and selecting the option in the dropdown menu.

edit.. correction.. apology.

the phone will still show the call coming in but will not interrupt your music.

My apology matthewdlyons.

his solution works.

wow.. Triple correction..

Matt's solution will work and not interrupt your music when music is played locally.

If , however, your music is played from the internet, as the op requested, then this option will not work.

CDMA(Verizon) phones can not do network(internet) access and voice calls simultaneously. Thus if you are playing back from internet it will interrupt when receiving a call because it can only use either the voice or data connection, not both. Even when in silent mode.

If playing back music from internet your best option would be to go through Google Voice.

Thanks for that clarification gspeed.

np... sorry to discredit you at first as you did post a solution for no interrupt of playing music locally.

Use airplane mode for local music. Then you won't receive the call at all.

nope. I almost believed this was the solution as well. The OP requested to be able to playback music from the INTERNET. If you turn on airplane mode you will also turn off your network access to 3g meaning you will not get the INTERNET music.

sorry WAldenIV just reread your post and realized you were taking about local music. Sorry about that. I'm just filled with apologies today.

:D @ discredit. Hey, I make mistakes all the time, and glossed over the word "Internet" in the original question; so your correction was warranted.

I use Google Voice as my default dialer and voicemail. I appreciate the do not disturb suggestion, which will send all calls directly to voicemail. FWIW, I actually don't mind the interruption of my music with a call when listening to streamed music. The music pauses, I see the caller displayed on the screen, and I can take the call or hit ignore and the music resumes.

 We all make mistakes...

I myself have also never ran into the issue of trying to not have calls come in during my music time. I'm also bound to answer or at the very least be notified of every incoming call during all waking hours of the day.

I just figured I'd try to help out the OP with a solution. :)
