How to sync phone and FB contacts?

Some of my contacts are doubled up because of the facebook contacts. On my Evo I could link them easily but as of now i can't figure out how on the Photon.

Thanks for the fix, it was drving me nuts. I also noticed that for some reason my contacts doubled up on my gmail account, so when I select a name to edit it shows 2 gmail contacts, this kinda bothers me but not that much. Anyone else experience this?

I have the same problem. All of my contacts are duplicated on the photon but they are not in my gmail. I merged all in gmail and on the photon still duplicated along with the FB contacts. I have just about 1600 and I hope there is an easy way to get them to merge on the photon. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I'm in the same boot with thousands of duplicate contacts from FB, LinkedIn, etc. My 3VO automatically linked all of my contacts but not so on the Photon. So far, I've just manually linked/joined the contacts with whom I frequently communicate. I hope a better way is revealed that AUTOMATICALLY links all contact sources.

Mine are automatically linked. I actually have the option to display Facebook contacts unchecked, but it still seems to be matching up my google contacts with their facebook profiles if they have one. So try unchecking the option to display facebook contacts and see if you prefer it that way.

Linking Contacts
Android automatically links together the same names from Gmail, Facebook, and other sources.
• Link Android Contacts: In Contacts select a contact then Tap Menu > Link and select the contacts to link.
• To Un-Link Android Contacts: In Contacts select the contact then Tap Menu > Link and tap the link to break it.
• Note that Jen, JJ, Jenni, Jenny, or Jenifer Aniston will not automatically link to Jennifer Aniston.
• Manually merge duplicate Gmail contacts: Go to www.gmail.com on a PC, click Contacts > More > FInd and merge > Merge

Thanks, milomindbinder. The problem is Android is NOT automatically linking my contacts with the same names for some reason. I use CompanionLink to sync Outlook contacts to my Photon to avoid dumping everything in Google's cloud and everything else is coming from FaceBook and LinkedIn. Sometimes FB and LinkedIn get linked but my Outlook contacts are always left out to dry!
