All credit for this goes to trailblazer101 over at XDA developers Forum

Handy little 'mod' i guess you could call it that, that trailblazer101 figured out..
He likes to think of it as like a more advanced LED notifier ;)

If you are interested in a method to get your ticker display to flash on and off for an adjustable length after you get, say, a text message, google voice message, missed call or such, just follow these simple steps :)

1) Install NoLed from the market
2) Get it up and working by enabling it through the home screen widget
3) Set up the options you want to have the ticker flash in "toggle notifications" (Just don't enable "Display Time"
4)de-select, if not already done, all the icons in "Use Icons" except for "others"
5)change the color of the icons to black by clicking on the options under "set colors" and moving all the sliders to the left.
6) Enable Blink
7) in Miscellaneous, uncheck "Disable touch screen".. Also, make sure all the "Use ***" options are enabled..

This is all the necessary adjustments you have to do.....for trailblazer101personally , he changed under "Blink" the "On time" to 5 Seconds, and the "Off Time" to 10 :)

Hopefully someone will find this useful :D i know i did!

Tried this but noled has fc issues for me and often completely locks the touchscreen to the point I have to pull the batt. No mods to phone, not even rooted yet. Wish it would work since the ticker is pretty much useless otherwise.

You need to follow all the steps exactly.... It worked for me...I'll try again later and see if I have a problem

i just meant noled itself - even without customizing things like times or flashing or anything, it force closes at random, or if i get a notification while the screen is locked, i can't unlock the screen no matter what i do and have to pull the battery.

Continuum

This is my first smart phone....The Continuum and I had to send it back after a month because I couldn't download any apps from the Market. I never tried till this past tuesday. So now I am trying this new one out...starting from scratch....again.
On the instructions for installing NoLed .....I couldn't find all of the items you listed to set them. At times I found something by chance and out of the order your listed to do things. Bottom line.. it didn't work for me so I deleted it and hope to try again later to complete the steps in the exact order.
Any help/details would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks
