Question How to turn off message double tap reactions

It's 1am and I was looking at a picture that a friend I have a crush on sent me of her about 3 weeks ago. I just accidentally double tapped it and it reacted to it with a thumbs up... So that's a bit awkward. I undid it, but I assume she will get the notification regardless. So... I would like that to not happen again. I looked through the settings and can't find a way to turn it off. Is there a way?

What phone do you have, and what messaging app are you using?

Embrace the heart approval and don't look back. You can just save the photo if it's over normal messaging so you don't accidentally interact with it

Welcome to Android Central! That feature of Google Messages can't be turned off at this time -- the only way would be to disable RCS chat features. Send feedback to Google about this from within the Google Messages app settings.

Good idea, but then you wouldn't be able to use RCS features (I think -- are there any 3rd party SMS apps that support RCS?).

Depends on the device, if it's a Samsung they could use that with rcs without reaction
