How to turn off sensors? [Moto Display Issues]

I've been a Moto Z user for several weeks now, at first the Moto Display was a charm letting me check notifications and the usual "What time is it?" at a glance. However after a week it got annoying than the Moto Display would activate nearly all the time.

I work in an office and have the phone sitting on my desk, turns out that every time I moved my arm or lean in Moto Display will show. So I decided to disable the Moto Display in Moto App --> Actions. But now, the Moto Display keeps turning on whenever there is a small vibration/movement in the table, or while driving when I pass over a bumper or uneven streets.

Is there a way to disable it altogether? Truth is, I'm more worried over the battery consumption than the occasional Moto Display turning on (1 or 2 times an hour, it's a noisy office with lots of movement). Plus it bothers me that the phone won't act as I thought it would.

It doesn't really affect battery life at all but you can turn it off. Just go into the moto app on your phone and the display and then turn it off. Notifications on the screen will be turned off. Good luck!

Thanks a lot! I thought disabling the "Approach for Moto Display" under "Actions" would do it.
Turning off the Display was what I was looking for.
