How to turn off startup and shotdown music on Galaxy S4?

With my S2, I believe I accomplished that by turning "system sounds" to lowest volume. But my new S4 came with that setting in place, and yet it plays theme tunes - really LOUD - on startup and shutdown. I'm liking this new phone quite a lot, on the whole, but not to be able to silence these sounds would be a dealbreaker.

So it turns out it was a little glitch in my refurbished phone. I turned the system volume all the way up, turned the phone off and back on, turned system volume back down to zero. ... all better!
