Just created an account to express my frustration about the junk they turned my expensive hardware into. several months later and they are still forcing this crap out the door. I hope your new eyesore in kitchener goes up in smoke like this phone surely will since your crapware pushout yesterday. How on earth did rim fail? And how is it microsoft bears the anti trust badge? Rim and microsoft are like the h.a. and mob that did their thing in such a way that it didnt spill out to the streets. Then the stupid police decapitated organized crime allowing petty street thugs to have a free for all out there in my public space wreaking havok on all of society? Congrats apple and google. Meet your.common thug. Be prepared to suffer.

Did you just keep hitting the auto fill button on your keyboard?

I have a Grand Prime and since the security patch is 2017. I cannot unlock the phone. If the security patch 2016 or lower I can unlock the phone. Is there any way to go back to an older security patch?

The U.S. is not on that list of countries, for downloading the Marshmallow OS, tuscanybay. Also, I don't see any method in the instructions to prevent 7.0 from installing itself in the future (nag screens that render the phone near-useless, after a while)

I would think Sammobile has the firmwares for US versions of S7 and S7 edge. Google for model number of your model/variant.

For disabling updates, there are a couple app disablers for this. Google for them or see this -

I hate it! Can't navigate with ease anymore. Worst of all, everything I added to my homescreen is just gone..... hours of research concerning my business is nowhere to be found.... the info I had may be irreplaceable? Any idea if they are hid somewhere, or are they gone forever? I'm sick.....

What did you put on your homescreen anyway and how did you put them there?

My phone did an update about a month ago and the only thing I found I don't like about it is that my battery doesn't even last half a day now. It totally sucks!

Hello I have problem vith my s
amsung g s7 edge dont come to update new softver stil work vith android 6.0.1 help please?

Anyone have a workaround for those popups? They are the worst decision I've ever seen. Hate them.with a passion.

Takes a bit of fiddling, but the above method worked for me.

Now only if I could fix the appalling battery performance issues I've been having since updating to Nougat...

My main take away since switching to Samsung is that it was a mistake. They're only interested in your initial purchase, ongoing support is not a priority as it makes them zero money.

Care to share what exactly is awful with your update? Other than a couple design choices with notifications (granted, one very truly really seriously annoying... pop ups... ), I haven't noticed anything that makes my phone worse. If anything it seems smoother than before (and it was already snappy) and my battery lasts longer. I did, however, had to clear my phone's cache after the update as it did get choppy afterwards. Have you tried that on yours? Might alleviate some of your issues.

The worst thing is I lost the ability to assign text message notifications per contact. Why get rid of that?? I'm allowed to respond to message from my immediate family while at my work, but I can get in trouble for being on my phone for any other reason. This crucial functionality is a mail reason why I've always chosen Android. How can I get that back asap?

Samsung just updated the app a few days ago to restore that option. If that isn't working for you, you can always use a 3rd party app that still supports the feature (like Textra).

Wait, what? Which app did Samsung update? My contacts? Because the option used to be there. Or is it somewhere in the Messages app that came with the phone? Does anyone else use this Textra? Is it any good?

It's in the Messages app now. And I use Textra, and yes, it's really good. Besides TouchWiz, the Messages app is the first thing I replace with a 3rd party app (Textra in this case) every time I get a new Sammy phone.

Couldn't find where in the messages app I could assign text tones by contact, but downloaded Tetra and the notification per conversation is working great for me. Thanks for your help.
