How to unroot so you can download the official froyo when it comes out

I also like Sense. I switch between using HTC Sense and LauncherPro daily. I do like being able to theme and mainly rooted for that as well as wireless tether and being able to get rid of a few programs such as quickoffice and cityid. Will either unroot and upgrade or wait until someone releases a stock 2.2 ROM that's rooted.

Wait on the ROM. Reason I say that is because by the time Verizon decides to roll out the update it will come out in waves. Unless you are in that first day or two you will be able to get a Cyanogen or Skyraider type 2.2 that has everything working and still be rooted and not have to worry about it within the first day or so of release. May even be able to get that before you phone lets you know there is an update!

there will be a fully functioning Froyo out before the update comes. i know this for a fact. there has been some major break troughs lately.

borgey that's a given isn't it? lol I mean hell the grey hats behind the keyboard have the crap cracked, hacked and rooted before the phone hits the market now a days.

According to the BGR article, it said late July or early August. I'd think we'd see it fairly soon, either way. Mostly because (1.) BGR is very trustworthy on these types of things, and (2.) Verizon's Tech Support Twitter account confirmed the BGR article. So, we should see it. The Incredible very well may be the first phone, other than the N1, to be updated to Froyo.

I'm pretty sure you'll have it.

Guys, is it unheard of for HTC/ Verizon to patch these exploits that are used to root? And is it possible that someone will put out a modified version of the OTA that you can install while rooted? Lol. I'm not a pro at this game yet.

Not unheard of they have done it before. And yes, a root safe patch will be out out I'm sure once the right people get to it.

Hope they are able to upgrade the radio with whatever patch they release.
I remember having to use RM for just the radio on my Droid, since the patches release wouldn't update it.
