how to view private mode files in new secure folder S8+

Ive had my s5 since launch and have loved it for the past 3 years i upgraded to the S8+ on release. on my s5 i had files stored in private mode on my SD card but how do i view them on my S8+ as they dont show up anywhere even if secure folder option is turned on?

I think you should of removed them from private mode first from the S5 then move them back on new phone

I have the same issue. The horse is out of the barn, Keith, so it's too late to remove them from Private Mode. Surely, Samsung has a way to access Private Mode files using Secure Folder. I'm sure millions of users have this issue.

Well, I'm sorry to tell you that there may be somehow, some way to do this but I highly doubt that a normal person or even some great minds of the community can't do anything about it, the way this works it encrypts the data on your phone and/or SD card, and the ONLY device that has those keys to decrypt is the device used during the encryption process, that's just the way it is.

Samsung is not to be blamed, if I remember correctly, they even give warnings about this when you first activate the Secure Folder feature.

If you still have your s5 and can open the files on it, you can backup​ your secure folder files to your Samsung account within the secure folder app. Then open them on your s8. I hope this help.

I have the new s8 and I moved pictures from my gallery to secure folder but I don't know how to view the items in the secure folder. When I turn secure folder on or off the button turns blue but I see no difference in anything

Did you delete them from your gallery after you moved them to secure folder?

It's easy I had a lot of trouble finding it but when you turn on the secure folder and put in your pin or password go to all your apps and it should be there as an app "Secure Folder" be sure when you turn on the private folder click on the words "private folder" and click "show secure folder" so it will appear on your apps and isn't hidden

Open the app put password in click the gallery icon and it should be there.
