Hello ! I bought my Epic 4G today . I over-all had a pleasent experience . Very nice guy. Talked about the Evo , the potential of Palm , and other devices . :P I also bought the Black Case that was available , & a screen protector . The screen protector was a piece of sxxt . If yyou bought it , return it before you open it . :P I love the case tho . I also loved how all the Sprint employees were wearing Epic 4G shirts , but none of them liked them . Haha . :] Does that make me a bad person ? Ehh . Probably . Oh also , my purchase took about half an hour , but that was mostly because of all my pictures and contacts to be transferred .

Anyways , how was your exerience ?
Was the rep knowledgeable ?
Was he/she friendly ?
How long did it take ?
Did you buy any accesories ?
Did your rep successfully transfer your contacts & pictures ?
Etc . Etc .

I don't work for Sprint btw . I'm just a teenager that can't sleep , and needed something productive to . This actually made me a 'lil tired . :)

I'm also typing this from my brand new Epic . ;]

I ordered mine from sprint.com right after midnight. I was hoping it was going to be shipped that morning, but never received the email confirmation...so I'm still on the edge of my seat.

I got mine on launch day but not without th trouble. First store I went too told me I don't have an upgrade. They basically after an 4 hour battle throw me out the store accused me of lying and and said I can't ever return to that store. Overall just where *****es. By the easy that's the store I pre order my epic. So Well. Went to a different store. They still had a lot Epics left. Doesn't seem is selling as well as the EVO did. It took 5 minutes walked out had an new epic. What I sold over ebay for 550 dollars lol. Keeping the evo. Anyway. You basically can say that I was pissed to be accused of lying and stuff. Was very very unhappy. But still got an epic and nice treatment in the other store. Free cookies soda coffee. Talked about evo and some reps liked the evo more some the epic because of having a keyboard. And I was impressed with the epic screen and how much lighter it is in comparison to the evo. Don't think that the price tag is proper and I do not think the epic is overall better. It's a very nice phone and my only other choice behind an evo. And if you want an phone with keyboard well no brain choice. Get the epic. And you aren't evil for licking the epic. I am glad you do and enjoy the epic.

Had an awesome experience doing my first purchase / upgrade from Best Buy... had a really good conversation with the rep about 4G and BB's insurance (declined of course) and walked out one happy customer!

I got mine from a pre order at Best Buy and it could not have gone smoother or more pleasant. They didn't even try to sell me there policy or a single case or cord! Quick and smooth. What I did notice was when the guy rang up the phone before the Sprint discounts were taken off it rang up for $749 with the taxes I was like WTF?

Anyways , how was your exerience ?

Good over all. Pre-ordered at Radio Shack and then went to Sprint to have ESNs swapped.
Was the rep knowledgeable ?

Not really, Radio Shack thought "Galaxy S Series" was the same thing as the UI "Touchwiz" and the Sprint person couldn't get my Evo reactivated after the ESN swap.

Was he/she friendly ?

Friendly, but slooooowww

How long did it take ?

About an hour total between the two stores.

Did you buy any accesories ?

Bought a red case at Sprint for the Epic, nice, but a little bulkier than I would like. Since it's my partner's phone and not mine it doesn't matter what I think about the case :)

Did your rep successfully transfer your contacts & pictures ?

Why would they need to? If you store your stuff in the cloud when you sync everything just pops back on the phone, which is what we did.

My transaction went pretty smooth. I was helped right away. They had it there and waiting for me. I had reserved mine at a sprint store. They also had all the accessories I had wanted for it. The rep even put on my screen protector and case. She was very helpful and knowledgable. I was very pleased with how it went.

Good experience! Much better than my experiences with ATT. Took a little over 1 hour for two Epic phones. I got 2 car chargers, a leather Galaxy S case for the wife, a media dock for me. The only negative is they all kept pushing the screen protectors.

I had a great experience at the Sprint Corporate store in Garner, NC. The rep was great. I walked right in and got called to the counter before I could sign in and was activated in no time. He gave me a run down of the phone and the features (He was an Evo user) and helped me with the contact sync and email setup.

I purchased a desktop dock and a phone cover using the 25% Premier discount and both are great. The cover does not work with the dock but that is not the fault of Sprint, Samsung, or the cover maker.

I would rate the experience a solid 5 stars. They even had muffins and juice. ;)

I purchased at RS. Since I went in on Sunday, they had my cover set aside with the phone. They let me handle the phone exclusively. I was activated in no time and they assisted me with my gmail and facebook set up. I also purchased some screen protectors - I'll be returning the protectors.

I rate my experience 5 stars.

The place I went to made it quite painful for us. Plus there was another guy there buying an epic and they were touting 2.2 on it and when I said it only had 2.1 they scuffed at me. I didnt say anything when they recommended a task killer in fear that they would revoke the phone transaction I was in the middle of. So when he left I followed him and explained that you dont need one for this phone and showed him how to use the built in widget. The ignorance was so thick you could cut it with a knife and they didnt care that they were wrong. I hope one of them grows a brain and see that eclair is on the epic and they feel bad about lying. /rant

Our second transaction at radio shack was a dream. They were nice and pretty informative. Granted RS is a bit overpriced for alot of their stuff, but they have electronic stuff nobody else carries and the people there seem to be actual techies and not just scripted sales people. But then again that may be just the limited stores I have been in.

my local corporate sprint store is night and day from the hellish experience it used to be. reps are now polite, not pushy, and some of them even know the phones. Great experience

Yeah, Sprint seems to have cleaned up their act.

The RadioShack I purchased from made my experience a complete pain in the you know what. First off the manager there is a complete and utter prick. I called this store the day before the Epic was released and asked how many pre-orders he had and he called he had none and that he had one in stock at the moment and that I could come in right then and activate it. So I high tailed it from my house to RadioShack in less than ten minutes. He claimed he sold four on them this past weekend(whatever) and this was his last one. Anyway we began the activation and in the back of my mind I knew something was going to go wrong. Low and behold it did. He claimed that the Sprint site wouldn't allow him go thru with the activation. The manager told me not to worry and that the phone is or was on my account and to come back in the morning and it would be smooth sailing. How can a phone be on an account that was or is not created? Anyway I returned to the RadioShack later in the day for another reason and happened to ask another sales rep to try it again. The rep went to get the phone out the back(with my name on it) and we had to call Sprint to get the account active and all was good. The next problem was that the phone was not in the system to be invoiced out which proved the manager was a bold face lie. So I returned to the RadioShack the following morning and the store opened fifteen minutes late. The manager called himself trying to check me saying that he got in trouble for the store activating an account prior to the phone being released. I responded by saying "well you must have gotten in trouble all weekend long since you claimed you sold four already." He gave me this smug look and rang the phone out and didn't even put the phone together. He just placed the phone box in the bag and told me to have a nice day. Later in the day I was having issues with my back key like most were in the other threads and I called up to store to see if he could find me a replacement. He told me to call him Friday and he MAY have one. I got in his you know what and told him that is not acceptable and I need one today. So I went to two RadioShacks and to hunt one down and the second took care of me. Both store managers at the other two RadioShacks gave me the district manager's number and wanted me to file a complaint on him. So yeah that was my day. Very Epic huh?

Sprint was Epic. In and out at 8:30 A.M. Store had a few customers, but far more employees in their silly shirts.

I went to a Best Buy this morning and it was a piece of cake. The two CSR's were my age (early 20's) and obvious technophiles. They set me up, (instant rebates FTW), transferred all of my contacts from my BB Tour, and had me out in about 30 minutes. They didn't even really push their accessary upsales like most Best Buy employees do. I was impressed by the experience, and am even more impressed by the phone!

My experience at the Corp store was fine. I generally don't buy in store, but I didn't want to wait. Walked in about 9:45am and was helped immediately. Only thing that bothered me is the rep was trying to shove accessories in my face. Most in the store were buying Epics, and one was buying an EVO. Funny how they seem to have those readily available now. Anyway I was out of there in 15 minutes, which was good cause I had my 3 year old son with me. Rep offered to transfer contacts for me from my Blackberry, I said not to worry because I would re-sync when I activated my Google account. So, overall good experience. Was rather surprised. Still not going to make a habit of doing business in store. I prefer online; besides it's more fun getting a delivery and unboxing the phone myself.

I wasn't with her at the time, but my girlfriend went to the Sprint store today and traded her mostly broken Pre for the Epic. The saleswoman offered to buy back her Pre for $37, so naturally my girlfriend said yes, but on one condition - that all her contacts be transferred from the Pre to the Epic. The salesperson said this would not be a problem and rang everything up.

After my GF had already paid, the salesperson went about transferring the contacts from the Pre to the Epic... but only a third of them transferred. There were about 150 that didn't, and weren't stored anywhere else (I know, I know), so my GF was naturally confused as to what she should do. Can I buy my phone back, she asked? NO was the answer. She was told: this phone is now our property and you cannot buy it back. If you want to write down all your contacts, you may do so here. If you don't have time now (she didn't), this phone will stay in our vault and you can come back later and write them down then.

They would not budge and kept repeating "The phone is now our property, not yours." My question is: couldn't they have just voided the sale and started over? Refunded the transaction? The manager was the one who kept saying "The phone is now our property." Our property. Just hearing that phrase makes my blood boil. I'm going to the store with her tomorrow when she goes to write down her contacts. If that ******* manager is there, I'm going to give him a piece of my mind.

Great, literally in and out stop. Not my first android. She asked me if I wanted the insurance, and I showed her my Froyo Hero and asked, "Do you cover me doing this?"
