How will you use the Xoom on an average day?

can I dl and run IE9 as a secondary browser? and will it work like my laptop browser? also can dl and run Microsoft office 2010on it? is a tablet more for videos and games or can it really be productive like my laptop?

It will definitely work like your laptop browser. Google essentially put Chrome in Honeycomb. As for Word, you cannot install it on this device, but Docs2Go will work beautifully. I use it on my Droid Pro and X and it works like a charm for creating and editing documents. Just download Docs2Go.

If you want to be productive you can. I think you're looking for a reason to bash tablets ;)

I will be using this on my hour and a half commute everyday. I cannot wait. I'll be saving my battery on my Droid Pro now that I'll be watching videos, browsing, tweeting, Kindle...ing, and listening using my XOOM. It'll be very nice.

I'll also be using this puppy at home. I have a 15-inch MBP for editing and such and it is basically a desktop lol. So many wires and hard drives hooked up to it. The XOOM will be used around the house to browse and such. I am also excited to use it for video chatting, either in Gtalk or hopefully Skype. (Is Skype available on the XOOM??) Over the past month I have been thinking to myself how great it would be to have a tablet around the house and in bed instead of unhooking everything and lugging that not-so-light MBP around!

I don't see any reason why Skype wouldn't be on the Xoom..I know if i had it on my Dell Streak 7 then it's for sure going to be on the Xoom.

My wife and I will be reading books, couch and bed surfing, car surfing too, email, facebook, games, netflix (when available), controlling our entire home theater(when red eye for android is released), docs2go, wife can manage her work from the browser, there is probably more I just can't think of right now. I can't wait to get this device!

You mean WITH video chat working in Skype? That's awesome :)

I'll be using it as a bridge between my PC and my Nexus One. Using my Nexus One for browsing etc.., just runs down the battery I would rather use for phone calls. On the other hand, to use the PC I have to get up and go to it. I have a laptop but don't much use it anymore as it's too big of a bridge between the PC and Nexus....I'm hoping the Xoom will be perfect.

I'm wondering though how Google Voice is going to work(or not) on the Xoom. When I set GV up on my Nexus it always goes in and configures phone calls, Voice Mail, etc.., but since the Xoom does not make calls, I wonder if GV will even work? I rely heavily on GV for free texting and want to do the same on the Xoom.

I think you can only do video chat with Google Voice/Google Talk.
