How would you change the Thunderbolt?

It seems like the Thunderbolt is a victim of over expectation and under deliverence. From my perspective the Thunderbolt specs are about on par with what I expected them to be. I didn't expect a dual core or upgraded screen tech. I also didn't expect to see the threads about being disappointed in the Thunderbolt.

So I ask, how would you change the Thunderbolt? What were you hoping for? What were you expecting?

I would have changed the screen tech the Res is to low for such a big screen bigger battery and I didn't expect dualcore but would have liked it

All i want is a good battery. Dual core would be nice, as well as a higher screen res. But im not complaining. Just give me a good battery. Please.

It won't. An EVO battery will probably fit, though.

The Incredible, the EVO, and the older Touch Pro 2 all use the exact same battery (as well as a handful of other HTC phones). Smart peeps have been buying older (cheaper) Touch Pro 2 batteries on ebay and Amazon for a while now to save money since they work perfectly with the Inc and the EVO

I have used all these interchangable batteries myself in all of these phones, as have several of my friends and colleagues.

Yep that's what ive been doing. I just wish i didn't have to buy an extended battery for the thing to last me all day.

i am very happy with the phone and will buy it the day it comes out unless its coming out mid march or later then ill just get the incredible but one thing i would have liked is hdmi out other than that i cant wait for the phone

Same old same old huh? nothing "amazing" Bloated with crap, small battery and weak front facing camera. I waited for this? Plus VZW wants you to live with whatever you pick for 2 years?
Its not that much better than an Incredible.

I loved HTC's tagline "It's not your dream phone. It's the one after that." but it also set a high bar that I don't think the ThunderBolt reached. So even though the ThunderBolt seems to be a decent phone, it's not a big leap forward from the competition and that resulted in a letdown for many people. From what I've seen of the current crop of phones, that tag most fits the Atrix. Unfortunately, that's not available on Verizon. :(

I completely agree with you. I think the only way HTC is going to survive the new era of Android is to make dual-core phones, fast. Dual-core processors are most likely going to become a standard for high-end Android phones in the coming months, and not very many people are going to buy HTC's phones if they fall behind in that respect.

Personally, I was extremely disappointed once I found out that the HTC Thunderbolt only has one core, and that there's no feature in it that really "wow"s you. So, it's a good phone, for sure, but the big question is this: Will it still be a good phone once Honeycomb and all of the dual-core phones are released? I don't think it will be. And I don't think HTC is going to be making another 4.3" Verizon phone for a while.

its a bigger incredible wiith a front facing cam really i wasnt hoping for dual core but was hoping for a better res display an they could still buff up the procsessor yes the DOLt was a letdown its an evo and thats exactly what they were aiming for and we all know it x.x

Screen Res and Battery capacity are the two biggest issues for me. Yes I can live with the single core, I prefer HTC over moto and if I get the TB by CES 2012 there will be dual core and I can upgrade again.

I had the DX and the screen size and res was ok, but for a device touting HD the screen should have been qHD at least.

For the battery, if Seidio can do it, then HTC needs to find a way to pack more battery into the same footprint to cut down on costs, or have they already cut costs by reusing the same battery from other devices.

I'm confused? Do we know what screen res is going to be. I thought they kept calling it a SuperLCD screen which I just assumed was an upgrade from the res the evo has.

I'd really love to see a larger battery and a sooner release date. Is march confirmed or is there a chance of seeing this baby sooner?
