How you feel about the s11 called s20

They could call whatever they want, names never bother me. I just want the latest device whatever it's called

Well I checked Verizon and in major cities it's not prevalent. In fact it's almost non-existent. Are you suggested the infrastructure is almost ready and they just have to throw the switch? We also have to be careful of what we call 5G since all Generations are not created equal.

TBF TMo's 5G rollout is fairly widespread already. Sure, it's Sub-6 so the speeds aren't as crazy as mmWave, but it's not like it's LTE-A advertised as 5G like AT&T does.

I don't really care much about the name. But for branding sake, I wish some companies were a lot more careful with future-proofing product names. In my opinion, you keep it as simple and straight forward as possible. Pick a name for your premium lineup, then just go up in number each year.

IMO, Samsung messed up having "Galaxy" include multiple tiers that include the mid-tier "Galaxy A" range. It's silly enough to have the "S" in there after "Galaxy."

It should have started with the "Samsung Galaxy 1" and gone up from there. This year's lineup should have been the "Samsung Galaxy 11." Different sizes? Make sure you identify them with simple, one-syllable words. Thus, "Ultra" is not a great choice given the extra syllable." "Pro" or "Ace" would work best, for instance.

So, this year we'd have the Galaxy 11, Galaxy 11 Plus, Galaxy 11 Pro.

They use galaxy to brand the line of phones or mobile products should I say. The "galaxy" branding has taken a whole level of branding in itself kind of like what Verizon did with the droid name. It's clever as some feel content with getting a lower end phone by Samsung in comparison to other brands due to it being called a galaxy. Not like the S series popped up over night it's been over night. 12+ years and going strong.

I don't necessarily agree. I think @hasasimo is spot on. Unless someone is a tech person, nobody has ever asked me if I was using the new Sxx. Occasionally somebody will mention the Galaxy name. They ask if it's the new Samsung almost every time. I think they did a good job with the Note branding, but not the S branding. I think the flagship series should've had a distinct name that could differentiate itself from the lower tier Galaxy phones. A good example of well done branding is iPhone. Whether you like the iPhone or even Apple as a company they did a great job branding iPhone.

As far as the numbering convention I don't mind them switching to 20. It makes as much sense going by the year as it does sequentially by model.

Good point !

That's not really fair since apple doesn't have any low end phones and most people don't know the difference between the 11 except that the max comes with 3 cameras. I'm honestly surprised at how many people that see my phone and instantly notice it's a note 10.
