Hi guys and gals, new here, but not new to Android.

My first smartphone was an Apple 3GS (32GB) in 2008, and over a short time I began to LOATHE both iOS & iTunes. Just under 4 years later, I looked into Android and settled on a Galaxy S4, which was an enormous breath of fresh air. I loved the fact that an Android phone is basically an external hard drive (and don't forget the phone functionality), and that it didn't have any software to interface with one's PC.

In 2017, I upgraded (finally!) to the Galaxy S8+, and just over a month ago I upgraded to the S22 Ultra. I know that there are a ton of great Android phones out there, but Samsung has my money for life unless somebody comes up with what I would call a superior Android phone...

Pixel, isn't that Google's phone? I can't recall, but a buddy of mine swears by them, especially if you purchase one that's unlocked!!!

Yes, I got it directly from Google. I tend to avoid phones sold by the carrier, since they often preload various bloatware.

Welcome to the forums. My first phone was the iPhone 3. My last iPhone was the iPhone 4. I got the LG Optimus G after that. Never went back to iOS.
