Just signed up because I've been finally stumped by Google/Android. Migrated all the way from Android 8.0 to 13, and man, am sure having some issues.
Running a Motorola Edge+ 2023 and it's not been the smoothest of rides, thus far.

Welcome aboard! 😃🤟

Unfortunately Moto's can sometimes be a little rougher around the edges when it comes to software. But they seem to be trying to step up their game, at least on their flagship devices 👍

Well, prior to this unit, we ran an el cheapo Moto e5 Play 8.0 for 6+ yrs with nary an issue.

This Edge+ 2023 throws a surprise nearly daily. Edge lights quit functioning, locks up in apps, settings change on their own, microphone wasn't queing Assistant last night, and this morning the alarm went off an hour late. This phone isn't even 2 mos old....thank God I didn't waste money on extended 'protection'.

Lenovo/Moto forum and support have proven to be a breeding ground for idiocy. I've an RA to send phone back for repair under warranty but, from what I've observed thus far, am afraid it'll come back with worse issues.

I believe a big issue is Moto isn't keeping up with Android Sys updates and recoding accordingly.

Just waiting for the S24 Ultra release, then this POS will become nothing but an $800 bad memory.
Too bad the govt. doesn't protect the consumer from this junk being foisted on us. Thank the corporate lobbyists who pay politicians to screw us.

Isn't globalism great?!.... don't tell me the Chinese aren't stuffing American politicians pockets, too .

Ok, I'm done.

I miss the days when Moto was actually Moto. I was a big fan and started with the Droid X. It's 4.3 inch was considered huge....lol. It's software skin, Motoblur wasn't the greatest and I actually rooted it. I think my last Moto was the Ultra or the Maxx. After that I went with LG....the G5 and V20. I hated Samsung at the time because of TouchWiz and refused to buy in. I've been with Samsung since the S10 because their software vastly improved. I have an iPhone for work but still done like them.

We used the 'top of the line' Motorola flip phone in the Nextel days of the 90's. Never an issue. US made.

It just seems that since Lenovo 'absorbed' Motorola everything spiraled downward. Lenovo is a Chinese firm.
Everything's about the bottom line anymore and as long as they're making money their trends will continue.

We walked away from Apple after the 4S phase.....Samsung is the flagship for Android, IMO.

Merry Christmas to all!

The odd thing about Lenovo is that they can clearly make super high-end laptops and desktops. I guess their budget/midrange mobile focus is a business decision. The recent Thinkphone is supposed to be pretty good, but I wouldn't trust Lenovo to update it regularly or for very long ...

Motorola told all of the tech reviewers, publicly, that they're offering three upgrades and four years of patches for the Motorola Edge Plus (2023).
That would take it to Android 16, plus the patches. It'll remain to be seen.

I've never heard anything good about Lenovo laptops and pc's from friends and associates that live in that realm.
In fact, they've told me when they came on the scene, they were just Ok, but have steadily went downhill ever since. Of course, we're just talking opinions here.

The issues with my Edge+ 2023 SEEM to have diminished or even disappeared. We activated a screen lock and the Edge lights started working, however an update came in at, or around, the same time.

This phone is a screamer now and noticeably quicker and more responsive than my friend's S23 Ultra.
We are running the performance option to borrow 8GB from storage and adding to RAM, and we have 165 Hz refresh rate.

It's the upgrading question and poor support we are concerned with.
Samsung's always been on time and stellar in those areas.

We'll see what the S24 Ultra 256GB shows up as and prices out at, I guess.
