how's your call/sound quality

See signature below - I have 3 phones right now. The EVO is the best in both incoming and outgoing quality. The Inc is 2nd, iPhone 3rd. CDMA just has better call quality than GSM, IMO. But my earpiece on the EVO sounds just fine. I have always turned the earpiece volumn down at least one or two notches from the highest setting - never had a phone that did not crack when set at the highest volumn setting. I think Verizon's network might be a little better overall, but I am disappointed in the Inc's call quality compared to the EVO. The Inc's earpiece breaks up syllables a little bit and sometimes conversations get choppy. That is going to kill it for the Inc. for me I am afraid.

I'm not crazy. I just used my sister's Palm Pre and that thing is definetely louder than the EVO. Maybe the speakerphone too but hard to judge. As far as clarity goes, I think the EVO might have the edge there. Definitely on the speakers.

I'm experiencing static during every phone call, mostly in between speaking. This happens regardless of reception and carrier. It's definitely noticeable. The actual sound quality of speaking is pretty good, but marred by the static hissing.

Anyone else experiencing this?

My quality is alright, voices sound full enough on both the ear piece and speaker.

That being said I've had better, the Samsung i730/i830 form a million years ago and my recent Treo 755p had what I consider some of the best audio call quality and a speaker phone you just can't beat, like window half down while driving can't beat.

I've see reports of crackling in the ear piece.

How's the person at the other end of the call hear you? (I ask b.c people bearly hear me on my bb tour)

I get the crackle sometimes when the volume is all up. I knock it down a bit and all is good. Just depends who I 'm talking to. Overall much better than my old N1 and T-mobile.

For me the quality is great. I have no problems at all. I also use a Jawbone Icon with the Evo no problems there.

Love my Icon while I'm driving..My first BT earpiece. Always hated the idea of wearing one but works really well. I just can't wear it in public yet

It took me awhile to get used to it in public. Now I forget to take it off, I usally realize it when someone looks at me funny while I'm talking on the phone. Oh well my wife says I'm crazy anyways, always talking to myself....
