How's your S7 battery holding up?

When did you purchase your S7 and how has the battery been holding up? Still holding a good charge? Notice any drop in battery performance?

I got my S7 in April of last year and my battery drains faster compared to the first few months of having it. I don't think I'm doing anything different, but I should probably reset my phone.

I'm on my 4th S7 at this point, and hoping it's my last exchange. My 1st one (and first Samsung smartphone) was purchased the day after US Thanksgiving. It worked well until mid April 2017, when on 2 overnights it went from 40+% charge to dead overnight. Then it started having issues where the phone would get very hot and the battery would tank, even just 3 hours after being on the charger. Finally gave up and had US Cellular send me a replacement phone. Lots of posts on these issues on this forum (https://forums.androidcentral.com/s...rading-nougat-new-post.html?highlight=erratic).

Phone 2 seemed to do OK with battery after a brief settling in period, but then was prone to dropping phone signal and missing calls. Since US Cellular couldn't find issues on their network, they said they should send another replacement.

Phone 3 also seemed to do OK with battery after settling in (had a night or two where it went dead) but had issues with the screen (palm swipe didn't work, letters on the edge were hard to get to work) that continued after a software flash and before any apps were installed. So phone 4 was ordered.

So far, phone 4 doing well with battery and screen and calls (just a week today, knock wood). Fingers crossed that replacement #3 is the charm. I can easily go a whole day and still have battery left, but I'm also not a heavy user and don't do any gaming on my phone.

Bad. Up until last month I was getting 30-35% at bedtime, now it's not uncommon for me to run out before then. I've been very careful on my app management, I don't do social media, just the basics so I'm pretty disappointed if it's the battery. It'll only reinforce my opinion on the value of a replaceable battery.

Purchased in April of last year, battery's holding up pretty well, although I do give it a full reset every 3 or 4 months to keep things fresh.

I do give it a full reset every 3 or 4 months

Is that done by a complete discharge followed by complete recharge?

Been using my Verizon S7 since June 2016 and have only had a few instances of excessive battery usage. Each time was either after an update or too many days since its last restart. It has held up well.

I keep mine until the next model comes out, then it becomes the spare phone. By the end of a years heavy use I do notice a drop in battery life but not significant...

been pulling along fine..gets me through about 20hrs.. I'm a moderate user..been about a year...I make sure to get it off the charger in a couple of hours.

I've had mine for several months now and battery life has definitely decreased. I can't remember the last time I got a full day.

Wow, that seems excessive. And painful. Do you then just restore apps from a backup, or do you physically go into the PlayStore and reinstall them all?

I back everything up...although last time I went into the Play Store and reinstalled only what I really used and gave up about 25-30 apps, if I remember correctly. It's a little painful, but worth it IMO.

The factory reset solved my fast draining battery problems. The battery lasts as long now or longer than when it was new. Just be sure to do a backup.

I've had my S7 since October '16. Only getting about 2 hours SoT for the last few months. I downloaded AccuBattery earlier this week and its estimating my battery at 81% capacity .

Not sure if I should try a factory reset or warranty replacement. I recently cracked the screen so warranty replacement might be out of the question.

People shouldn't have to do a FDR to get a phone working properly. That's a huge problem with Android, the average user has no idea what a FDR is nor should they.

Bought mine April 2016 and still seems relatively decent, not a super-user but usually have 50-65% charge left after a 16+ hr day. Like some phones I've owned it has never stayed on 100% for very long after a full charge, usually drops to 95% within 1-2 hrs before starting to level out. My S7 Edge exhibits similar traits on the latter although not quite as abrubt declines, it's a recent purchase so make sense.

I've only reset S7 once and that was when the Nougat update instilled a few hiccups. After reseting can't say there was a noticeable difference in the way battery performed compared to prior.

I just went through the same issue with tmo. 6 month old phone and all of the sudden an unexplained rapid discharge and heat. They sent me a new one.
