How's your wifi connection on Note 3?

Re: The ultimate Solution to Samsung Galaxy note 3 wifi dismal drop outs

Big Red N3 here.

No issues on my home and work networks.
Haven't tried to connect elsewhere, however, including attempts on a web-based log in, like mentioned earlier.

My wife and I both purchased Galaxy Note 3's from Verizon and have the same issue. Our former iPhone's are doing just fine, but we frequently get the "wifi connection is unstable" message. I hope this can be fixed with a software update.

I guess I am lucky. I got my phone Thursday morning from Verizon and I have not had any of the problems you guys are describing. I leave my WiFi toggle on all day. So when I get to work my phone switches to WIFI when I am home it switches from 4G to WiFi. Mine is very stable. I have strong 4G and strong WiFi.You should just return your phones and get another. Also someone else that had problems with their Verizon GNote3 they had CityID running on their phone which caused a lot of problems. Un install it or Unregister it. It might fix your issue.

Re: How's your wifi connection on note3?

This really concerns me. The S-4 is not known for having good reception on wifi, and to have the Note 3 perform worse in the same location is starting to look like a deal breaker for me. Many posts now stating the reception on the Note 3 is not good. I want this phone so bad, but not with poor reception.

My Note 3 has performed absolutely flawlessly. I connected to a WiFi network about 75 yards away before I even opened my settings.

Re: How's your wifi connection on note3?

I have a Verizon Note 3. I've been able to stream shows to my TV with no issues since I purchased the phone a couple days ago. Every now and then (maybe two, three times), I get a notification saying that the connection is unstable, but I don't notice any large decrease in performance. If I do notice some sluggish connection, I just turn wifi on and off and everything is back to normal.

Legacy mode for the Asus on the 2.4GHz band is 802.11G and under. Auto includes the N band. Legacy for the 5GHz band is N. Auto includes the AC mode.
I didn't try to force 802.11N on the 2.4GHz band to see what would happen and I wouldn't be able to leave it there if it did work since most of my wireless devices only supports 802.11G.
If there's an issue with the router I'm pretty sure that Ausus will release a firmware update. They did for the S4 network issue quickly.
But as of 10/14 there hasn't been anything new out for the router. I've not search for any complaints on other forums that deal with the Ausus router to see if anyone else was complaining. After the issue was resolved by changing the setting I pretty much just put it on the back burner.
I've also not had time to test this with other N routers that I have to see if the issue pops up with them also.

This is one of the best routers you can currently get according to reviews, so this is disappointing.
Do you know what 'legacy mode' is? The 802.11ac improvement is in the 5 GHz band. I thought that 2.4 GHz would be essentially identical to 802.11n. So has Asus added a proprietary extension to the 2.4 GHz mode that doesn't play nicely with the Note 3 ?

so after turning off always allow scanning, auto network switch, auto connect, wifi powersave, att smart wifi, and even replacing the phone the problem persists. the wifi drops but not as often and i dont get the error notifications about unstable internet. it just pops up saying connected to wifi every once in a while. just got off the phone with samsung. they said they are aware of the problem and are working on a software patch but dont have an eta on when it will be released. they said its not just the note 3 but also the s3 and s4.

I've had the same issue with my wife's and my note 3. Either wifi is unstable or I'm disconnected because my wifi network is to slow... I've never got the to slow Message at home but I got it on free wifi networks.

I've reset my router and hard reset my phone. I didn't have this issue on my note 2. My wifi connection on my cell phone seems to be slow... a lot of buffering etc. My 4G is faster.

My LG tone + headphones don't work well with this phone either. They didn't work on my note 2 either. I'm going to return both phones tomorrow for two new ones.

I'm on Verizon network.

Note 3 is one bar better than my Note 1 in same location at back of the house.

I contacted Samsung and they had me perform the following which seems to have resolved my wifi "unstable connection" problems:
-Power the device off (remove and re-insert the battery).
-Press and hold the Volume Up key and the Home key, then press and hold the Power key.
-When the device vibrates; release only the Power key while still holding the other two keys.
-When the Android system recovery menu displays; release the Volume Up and the Home key.
- Navigate with the Volume keys to the "wipe cache partition" option and press the Power key to select.
-Wait for the cache is cleared. While reboot system now is highlighted, press the Power key and reboot the device.

Hope this works for you.

I have a Verizon note 3 and wifi is awesome so far.....it hasn't missed a beat.

My problem actually seems to have resolved itself. No issues for the last three days. Completely stable wifi.

I live in the UK and will be returning my otherwise-amazing Note 3 tomorrow and switch back to my S4, because of this issue (one week trial period expires tomorrow). I am with provider "O2". I will keep trawling the forums in search of a solution though, in addition, the home button has developed a catch during depression so overall I suspect the Samsung paid more attention to the S4. What a pity.

I have done some research on past problems with other phones and it seems this can be an issue with jelly bean 4.3. Other times when there is a software update to the operating system there has been problems with the WiFi
So its possible that 4.3 is causing the problems as it is new, just grasping at straws but who knows till the truth comes out.It seems that all the carriers are having these issue's!.nobody seems too want to take responsibility at this point between the carriers or Samsung but someone knows for sure.

Re: The ultimate Solution to Samsung Galaxy note 3 wifi dismal drop outs

I have had Auto Switch Networks unchecked since I set up the phone. Haven't had issues with my wifi at all.
