HSUPA update being "deployed soon"

well im thinking fo doing it right now... but one question though.. when i'll get the update notification from ATT will it recognize that my phone is already updated? or it wll continue to nag me all the time without possibility to get rid of it?

I don't think it will nag you since it is already updated but I'm not 100% sure. The Atrix is my first Android device so this is only my second update. I was an iOS device user before so updates are much different. I recall from the first OTA (update to 4.1.5.7) that the phone kept nagging until I downloaded it.

At first when I did this manual update and the phone rebooted, I thought it didn't do anything because all my apps and homescreens were all intact. I tried to use Titanium backup and it said that I didn't have root access anymore but I was still able to download apps from Amazon App Store. So, I went back onto xda and found an app called "Gingerbreak" and sideloaded the apk onto the phone. This particular app roots the phone and installs Superuser. Once the phone rebooted, I was back in action.

Well I am flashing the device right now... got the file from xda, although i ran into two problems, flie name was too long and when i changed it flash faled with a sertain error code so i had to do some digging and found a thread of one system's engineer who had the workaround. anyway that was an interesting experience..... so I am patiently waiting to see the end of the process.. hope It wont brick my device....

Well its done Ok and i ran two speed tests (had to restart the phone cuz first it showed the same speeds i had before the flash)
anyway... I ran two tests First test: 136ms the DL is 2.83 mbps and upload is 1.02 mbps.... Second test did a little better: 133ms DL 3.07 mbps UP 1.58 yyeahhh well... I mean it's better than it was before but not as good as some people from other areas reporting. Anyway jcren785 thanks very much for your help! It sure was an exciting experience!

i think after update my phone gets hot at the buttom and it does it faster than it used to before... is anyone experiencing it?

You're welcome! I'm not sure how much I helped but I'm glad you got it working. My phone was getting warm before the update sometimes so I didn't find that out of the ordinary. When my phone gets warm, I just think in my mind that I'm really working the phone out even if that's not really the case. This update has helped me to like this phone again. I bought a Nexus S with ATT 3G bands and while I like it alot because I can flash all sorts of roms on it, the Atrix has much better hardware and is a better phone overall. Maybe I will sell the Nexus and get a tablet to play around with...

Well It doesnt bother me much i think it gets hot when its on charger and im messing with it. Right now its off charger and seems quite normal. Nexus S sure is a great phone but you are right the specs an atrix are much better. But im thinkin of getting galaxy s II actually... i am not sure if it will be compatible with att 4g network.. if it wont than ill just stick to atrix for now LOL
