HTC 10 crashes every time I tap the front right button

I have started up my brand new HTC 10 for the first time. Inserted the SIM card, and powered the phone up. I entered my existing google login as I have had android phones before and it signs in and starts to download the factory apps. After a few minutes the apps are all downloaded and I attempt to use the device.

As soon as I tap the right hand button on the front of the phone the screen freezes for 5 to 10 seconds then crashes and reboots. Strangely however, if I hold down the right front button I get the homepage menu pop up ok with no freezing and no crashes!

I have carried out 3 factory resets and updated all the factory apps but the problem still occurs.

I am hoping someone maybe able to help me with my £500 brick

You could try running it in safe mode. If that works then an app would be indicated as being problematic. If it still malfunctions then nothing to do but return it for another.
