I wanted this phone and I wanted it bad. My Galaxy Note 4 was by far the best device I'd ever had but I was getting tired of it's size.
I headed into a few t-mobile stores. ok...2. But only one had the HTC 10 on display. I inquired about it and they checked their physical inventory and told me they didn't have any in stock but it wasn't the first time in the past few weeks that someone had asked about it. Anyway. I had no choice but to upgrade to something else so I chose the G5. Now don't get me wrong. The G5 is a great device. It's just...eh. It didn't fit me right. I've never necessarily "settled" for a smartphone I didn't want and I shouldn't have. I still want the HTC 10 because I feel like it's a device I can hold onto for a while like my Note 4.

It's been almost a year since it's been released so how is it treating you? Is the camera really that bad? is it a work horse? samsung gets a lot of praise but the main problems I've come across with their devices are slow downs. lots and lots of slow downs. Tell me your experience with your HTC 10. Maybe I'm just itching to have something I wasn't able to get at first. You know what I mean...a "Want what you can't have" sort of thing. Thanks!

First, the camera is really good. When it came out, it took some software tweaks, but since then it's great. I've had the Sprint model since it cam out last May and still love it. Just as fast today as the day I got it. Love the build. I can easily get another year or two out of it...

I like mine still which I've had since last summer. It's a Verizon model and is just as fast as it ever was. It never lags that I can tell. Camera is fine. I'm finding i would prefer a bit smaller, less weighty device tho after using an iPhone 7 for awhile. Man, it's an iPhone I know but what a great size and battery that goes all day. I don't get the larger trends in phones these days, but digressing here. yes the 10 will be an awesome choice for all of 2017 and beyond IMO. And Nougat is coming soon I hear.

It all depends on price. That device is a straight up work horse. No glitches or lag. Any discrepancies on my end have been Wi-Fi related. The camera is a decent unit. I've been very pleased with it in almost every way. To be honest though if I was in the market now I'd hold out for the LG 6 or I would be seriously looking at the moto z lineup. The 10 when I looked a couple months ago was still more expensive than all the other phones Verizon had on the floor except for the iPhone and galaxy.

I'm still happy with it after having it since June. I even looked at the other main phones recently just to see if I regretted anything and I really don't, honestly. Sense looks great, I have the folders and apps arranged as I want them, the camera's pretty good, not too much lag if any, etc. Works good for me and will probably have it for awhile longer, barring anything going wrong (knock on wood).

You sound like you'd like an unlocked version of this phone. I bought the same a few months ago and paired it with AT&T's no-contract GoPhone plan @ $40 / month. Great phone! Great rate!

When I bought mine, they were running a promo for (I think it was) $200 off. They were just running a similar promo for perhaps $150 off. So check their website periodically for deals.

I got my htc10 back in October on one of their sales... The camera is good, just not as fast to focus as the Gal s7... I've never had any problems with the pics I've taken...I would say I get 4 1/2 hours SOT regularly .. The battery chargers really fast if you a heavy user... For me the only downside is it doesn't get super bright and so if you are a person who works outside this wouldn't be the phone to get.. It's fine but not the best for outside in the sun light use.
As far as the phone preforms... In this area it's great.. No lags for me...I love the feel in the hand, but it is on the heavy side for a phone this size... But the built quality is maybe the best out of any phone right now... If your not on Verizon I would hey the unlock model as we got 7.0 back in November way in front of everyone else... We are also on the January security update which is pretty good.
I'm happy with the choice of getting this phone.

Bought it when there was a bit of a sale, so I got it for a little less than 500 in change in Camelia Red. Gorgeous device. As smooth as an iDevice, which thoroughly impressed me and no slowdowns after a month. Android has really come a long way.

Coming also from several Lumia phones, I'm spoiled for cameras; my iPhone 6s Plus has a **** tier camera in my opinion, but I was actually impressed with the 10's. A surprising amount of detail for 12 megapixels (ultrapixels). Even me being snobby with mobile cameras, I'm quite pleased with it. I have Nova Launcher Prime on it, and was tempted to stay with Sense, but me not being able to find a way to change the lockscreen wallpaper natively ticked me off to no end, so I went Nova and never looked back.

But yeah, it's fast, fluid, and it's a joy to use. Further, it charges INCREDIBLY fast and doesn't weigh my hand down. It's nice to one-hand a phone again.

Good points re: fast charges. I'm going to be a bit spoiled by this is I move on from HTC at some point and it's not a standard elsewhere.

I bought the unlocked GSM HTC 10 from HTC and am on T-Mobile. Works perfectly. Only time I've ever not had phone envy when seeing other phones.

Now that it's got Nougat on it, it's even smoother and faster. It's taken a week for everything to smooth out, and now the battery life is getting even better, and it wasn't bad to begin with...
