HTC 10 Unlocked Not Available to US Sprint Customers?

I was going to purchase a HTC 10 yesterday with the $100 off coupon, but noticed that the unlocked version on HTC's website isn't available to US Sprint or Verizon customers. Anyone know why?

It does say Verizon and Sprint versions coming soon. I'm not a huge expert, but could the unlocked one not for Sprint be due to the difference in CDMA vs GSM

Looks like HTC can't pull off what Apple, Google, and Motorola do today. Same thing happened with the One A9.
