Installed on my rooted phone. Panoramic option crashes my phone. Also there are no settings for 3D pictures. As I have a phone that takes 3D pictures, I can not think of a reason I would ever take a 2D picture. So no help here for me.

Did you install apk or zip? I installed the higher resolution zip and am able to take 3D shots.
There are 11 attached files to the post. Am I correct in thinking that I should download and install the one titled, "HTCAmaze_camera_ported2EVO3D_v0_08_2048x1152_cdma_by_bio_signed.zip" for my NON-rooted EVO3D?
This is the higher resolution one for non-rooted users.

Just speaking for myself but so far, no crashes. I think the confusion lies in the number of file attachments and what to install if you are rooted vs non-rooted. If you are not rooted, download the highest version (08) of whichever resolution you want with the apk extension. If you are rooted, download and install from the zip.
Well, my cat has been pretty lazy this evening. This is a pic taken of him on my lap in very low light using the default settings of the higher resolution version of this app.
Is anybody getting 1080p recording? I installed the higher resolution apk, but there is no option for 1080. Only 720.

Maybe I'm missing something but going by the Amaze camera file name and the thread discussion, I thought the highest resolution was 2048x1152. However, I'm also getting a 2560x1440 selection. It works in 2d but is crashing in 3d. Rooted and running CleanROM 2.7
Wow is everyone confused on the reason for the resolution issue!
When you look through the posts on XDA it notes that the two different resolutions are because the "second camera sensor" (I think the 2nd sensor needed to get 3D) has changed in newer models of the EVO 3D. Older phones (at least in the GSM world) have 2048 x 1152 (2.4 MP) and newer models have 1920 x 1080 (2.1 MP). It has nothing to do with the resolution of the 2D pictures or videos.
The instructions suggest trying the higher resolution first and if the program crashes in 3D mode to try the lower resolution file. It also appears to me that for the 1080p video to work you need to be rooted because of the mention of some libraries that need to be updated which cannot happen with just an apk install.
My 3D is from the original launch and not rooted. I had a crash and Sense reboot with the 2048 x 1152 apk file when taking a 3D picture (after it saved to the Gallery). When I uninstalled and switched to the 1920 x 1080 apk file 2D and 3D both work fine as does the screen side camera. Still have not tested much yet. Original post mentions that some features are disabled: BurstShot, SmartShot and in 3D: face detection, blink detection, portrait, and panorama.

Played around with the camera last night a bit more. Did some lower light in normal room situations and some with better lighting. The pictures are MUCH better than the stock app. I'm getting MUCH less blurring when the subject is not stationary. I'm digging this so far! Haven't played with the video yet.
After looking at the resolution of some 3D photos I had previously taken with the default Camera App ("Details" menu in Gallery) I see that they are 1920 x 1080 so I think this is a pointer to which version of the Amaze Camera App people should try.
I also found that you cannot select BurstShot or SmartShot as noted by the dev. You can select SweepShot (panaorama), but every time I tried it in 2D mode in either landscape or portrait the Amaze Camera Force Closes :'( after trying to take the first photo in the series. I reported this to the dev and see that others have mentioned similar problems on XDA.

Overall I think the default settings are better and the UI is nice. I have been able to take photos and video in both 2 and 3D. So far have experienced no force-closes.
Absolutely freaking out right now. I uninstalled the Amaze cam 2048 apk and installed the 1920 .zip in recovery. Once the phone booted back up everything is gone. It did a data wipe without me telling it too. I am not prepared for this to have happened this morning. Just sickening. I know 100% that i didn't accidentally do a data wipe too. Didn't go near that option.
I installed the .zip I can take 3D photos mo problem... the point I was making is that none of the "settings" are available in 3D. No matter what option I select in 3D, it goes back to "Auto". And it takes good shots in 3D on the auto setting... just would have been nice if the settings were also available in 3D mode. As I mentioned... I take EVERY picture in 3D... I can then convert it to 2D. I figure in the near future when we all have 3D tv's... I will have wished I had taken every picture and video in 3D!
Oh, I thought you meant that 3D didn't work at all. I just tested and took pictures using Clearshot, Night, and Action in 3D. Smartshot, Burstshot and Portrait didn't work in 3D though and reverted back to my previous setting.
You are correct! lol. I must have tried the 3 that don't work and just assumed that the setting were only for 2D.
My phone is not rooted. Downloaded and installed without a problem, however I notice the video camera is still at 720p. I was really looking forward to the 1080p for video.
Also the highest resolution for my 2D shots using this Amaze camera is 2560 x 1440. Is this normal? So far I have not noticed a difference between this Amaze camera app in default settings in comparison to the regular EVO 3D stock camera.

Tested the Amaze Camera app some more and in daylight conditions without changing any of the settings, it is clearly better than the default camera in similar conditions on auto settings. I still can't figure out why I can't get 1080p video though.
