HTC Aria will not sync

I've recently update my Adobe Air and HTC Sync. *Now my PC and phone cannot see each other and my HTC Aria will not sync.

What I have done already.
- Uninstalled and reinstalled HTC Sync
- Uninstalled and reinstalled Adobe Air
- Uninstalled the last 2 items I installed on my PC
- error checked my hard drive
- defragmented my hard drive
- updated my Microsoft OS security updates
- tried with old version of HTC Sync.
- formatted the SD card
