My clock widget will not open up anymore when I tap on it. It won't let me go in and change my alarms. I can click on the little weather part and that opens but not the clock. Can anyone provide some guidance? Thank you

That is a known issue with the latest gingerbread update. Hopefully it will be addressed in the next update. If you restore to factory settings it will come back, but will sometimes disappear on you again. I have luckily kept the clock after my latest restoration. I havenet added too many apps and I think that is the answer to keeping it. :)

Thank You. How do you do a factory reset? I looked it up online and found that you have to do it by turning it on while holding down the volume key? Can someone confirm this? I don't want to mess up my phone. Now it wont even let me open up my phone to call people. Thanks

The way I factory reset is Settings>SD & Phone Storage and then click on Factory data reset. It will ask if you want to erase your SD card contents. Make sure you select NO for that.

before you do a reset try update the OS
another thread was posted saying the 2.3.4 update is available

a reset may not fix it. some have reported resetting fixed it for a few days but the problem came right back. try the update and if that doesn't work personally i would use a 3rd party alarm app.

but the reset is your call

The latest release 2.3.4 does not help. I talked to customer support at Verizon who called HTC and was told it is a known issue. Not timeline on when they might actually attempt to fix it.

You are going to lose everything. The phone will be just like it was the day it came out of the box. Now if you are backing up your contacts either by saving them all as Google contacts or by using VZW backup manager you will get those right back. As far as e-mails go they will all resync with the device as you sign into the accounts they are associated with. Text messages are gone. There are programs on the market to allow you to back them up, I've never used any so I can't say how well they work, Apps will also all be deleted but if you make sure in the settings menu under privacy that back up and automatically restore are checked before you do the factory reset and then go into settings accounts and choose sync all the data will all be backed up to Google. Then after the factory reset as you are setting up the phone again be sure that automatically restore is turned on and all of your apps will start to download again. I would suggest making a list of the downloaded apps just in case so you know what you have and want back. Also this only restores the Google market apps so anything that you have downloaded from other app stores such as the amazon one will have to be re-downloaded manually

Don't do a factory reset just yet. If you have folder organizer installed you can access the clock program from there and you can create a shortcut to the program via folder organizer as well. Once I did that my clock - including the widget - worked again.

How do you access the clock program using Folder Organizer? I have this application and cannot find where the clock program is even located.

Please elaborate.

My Clock just magically returned as well. The problem is that i cannot trust it now for an alarm because i don't know if it will stop working again.

I could see the Clock app in the list of apps within Folder Organizer. When I opened my app drawer prior to this the clock app was not there, but it could be found within Folder Organizer. I just clicked on the drop down menu for the clock app from within the app list in FO, then selected launch. I was then able to edit my alarms and after that the Clock app was available in my app drawer and I was able to create a Clock widget again.

Did you have Folder Organizer installed prior to this or did you just install it?
