HTC's ship is sinking quickly. Pulled focus out of the U.S. due to slow sales. Recently pulled out of Brazil for the same reason. European sales continue to be disappointing. I wonder what the sales are like in Taiwon, home of HTC, because everywhere you look, they are doing poorly and closing shop.
AT&T just lowered the price for the One X to $99 on contract. I expect buy one get one free soon.
HTC is apparently so embarrassed by their X/Evo sales numbers that they refuse to release them.
HTC urgently needs new leadership because they are dying. That company needs a complete overhaul from the leadership on down.
Or meet the same fate as Palm.

This doesn't surprise me at all, as anyone who may followed them HTC dev on Twitter in the past year. Knows they posted more tweets daily about partying than about any possible, useful development of their products. Just sayin :p

Interesting...I already had a very difficult time deciding between the GS3 and EVO LTE this year but decided to go with the EVO due to how much I loved my OG (as is the case with most). I had pretty much already decided to give Samsung a shot when I'm eligible for my next upgrade...and if this trend continues it'll be a no brainer. Especially if there's no new EVO offering (or no HTC at all for that matter).

I dunno.. they might just pull off some fancy new gadget at the end of this year. I still have hope in them.

Apart from multitasking the Evo and the one series are really spectacular devices. The problem lies in a complete lack of effort in marketing. I've only seen one ad for the Evo played occasionally, none for the One X, one for the One S that was kind of a T-Mobile ad in general, and what...like 5 or six different ones played almost constantly for the gs3.

Never seen one for the EVO only for the One X and ive seen it alot like 15times (havent been watching to much tv lately but almost everytime I do watch for more then 2hours I see the AT&T one).

With that said Multitasking is a huge deal also the battery being non-removeable is another huge NO NO so yeah those two are issues for alot of people. For some people multitasking not battery is the issue for others battery is the issue and for others both no amount of advertising is going to fix that. Its still a great phone but lacked the hype that Samsung had going for it before anyone even knew what the phone would be..

Anyways what I am shocked about is that they had a office in Korea.....seriously, thats just stupid.

They have something like a 1% share of the Korean market, down from a whopping 2%. To me, it doesn't even make sense to keep an office there.

Now perhaps the money they saved can be used to fix task management and maybe place a few ads?

Maybe a structural workers training manual and a no alcohol on company site policy.:D

While the non-removeable battery is a con for some people I don't see that it's actually something that would seriously impact sales. For instance, the iPhone doesn't have a non-removeable battery and it's always outsold the Android phones that did (Can't remember the numbers on the Galaxy S2 and 3 vs the iPhone, but in general the point stands). Seeing as how we get awesome battery life I don't think the non-removeable battery is as bad for sales as the lack of marketing.

I always wondered what HTC stood for. I guess it might stand for Have To Close.
Sorry, couldn't resist.
I'm an HTC fan. I hope they get it together. But just reading about current strategies in China, where smartphones aren't nearly the passionate necessities that they are in the western hemisphere, HTC hangs it hat of hope. All the eggs in one won ton soup basket. I just don't know what they're thinking.
When they fail to generate profit in China, what's next? Taps?

Hell, I don't know why they even had an office in South Korea, home of Samsung. But it points to a dangerous trend that HTC finds itself it. Too many office closings and refocuses.
I remember reading a review of the Evo Lte wherein the critic said the back of the Evo Lte has too many different textures that bring no aesthetic harmony, calling the back schizophrenic.
HTC's current culture resembles the description that critic gave of the Evo.

I agree. I think the poster was speaking through enthusiast shades. Take off the shades and you find a buying public who couldn't care less about the totability of a battery so long as they're getting satisfactory battery life.
I also agree, and have said many times in this forum, that HTC's boat is taking in water because of the mysteries of the Evo Lte. In marketing, if your product is a mystery, it doesn't sell. My 8 year old son knows that when we do his lemonade stand during the summers, he has to put up signs around the neighborhood to let people know there's cold, fresh, sweet southern style lemonade at 316 Sturnidae Drive. He knows that without signs, noone will know it's there and he probably won't make enough money to finance whatever toy or gadget he wants by summer's end. In fact, he so understands the meaning of marketing that he begs me to allow him to put up signs miles away when we're out shopping or doing errands. He understands the more people know about his product the more money he'll make, and the sooner he'll be able to buy the bike he wants this year.
I might have my son send HTC his business plan.

I agree the removable battery non issue for me. I love my Evo4GLTE. Please don't mention the non removable battery and compare it to the iPhone though . You may be starting another lawsuit as we speak.;):D:thumbup:
