I have successfully unlocked my bootloader, flashed a custom recovery image, and rooted my HTC Desire 510. I do have a few questions.

One is that I understand that on my old HTC Phones, when you flashed a custom recovery image, it would say " ***TAMPERED*** " in hboot. I know that you had to turn security off or S-Off for this to disappear.

I was wondering if there is a method to do this on this phone or if there isn't. My second question is if anyone has any suggestions for a rom that I could flash. I am kinda getting bored of HTC Sense roms (especially because I don't have Lollipop 5.0 on my phone so I can't get Sense 7) and I would like something new but I don't know if I should go with Cyanogen Mod like I usually do or try a different type of rom for the Desire.

All help is welcome and thanks in advance!

Welcome to the forums. I don't think the Tampered can be removed, but I may be wrong. You do need S-Off to flash other ROMs as I recall. Now that you are rooted, you can't accept any updates anymore. You may need to update your bootloader in order to accept newer ROMs.

Hello,

The ***TAMPERED*** can be removed and S-OFF is required. You do not need S-OFF to flash other ROMs. No update to your bootloader is required to accept a new ROM. I would post more info but I would have to link you to another site.

You are right, Golfdriver97, 5.0 Lollipop ROMs cannot be flashed on our device at all as we do not have Lollipop yet nor are there any Lollipop ROMs created or fully working for our device yet. There is only KitKat. We should have Lollipop ROMs soon when it is out for our device.
