I was wondering who else besides me ordered the fold again to get the better price ?

Both are arriving today and I need to refuse the original , won't have been a problem if they arrived on different days.

Do you just tell the driver you don't want the original one using the tracking number etc ?

Another member posted here on another thread he suggested taking the delivery and doing a return, mention that it's harder to track and takes a lot longer by refusing the delivery.

The refusal was customer service told me to do , but they also told me they would email me instructions when it ships, I never got that email LOL

Samsung is nuts, wouldn't price match me on 2 price drops or cancel orders.
Refused delivery on first order yesterday and now actively tracking return with UPS .
Refusing 2nd order today. Once I am able to track will order 3rd Fold 7 at $818 all in.
Total savings $190. Will never buy early again, wait for preorders to almost end.

I hear you ! It dropped again 2 days ago , at least the email and text i got say new price etc.

It is hit of miss, lower demand for the Fold, meant you got the color you wanted without much delay. I assume that is why they kept dropping the price.
Samsung said earlier in the year that they were going to reduce the amount of units produced for the folds. I actually think the sales out performed their expectations.

Yes, both of mine arrived. I look up the order and associate the tracking information and told driver to RTS that one and keep the one with new pricing.

That's my logic is telling me. The reason why they keep changing price is because people is not willing to spend the money.

I was the other member who suggested accepting delivery and returning the phone instead of refusing and using "return to sender"

Samsung customer service is right to suggest you that, especially to avoid the restocking fees. But the reality is that return to sender takes the slowest path way back. It maybe alright if you are closer to Texas.

Also, after receiving the phone back, Samsung will take it's own sweet time to process everything together and issue the refund.

Generally, using the normal return process is better and faster. Just my 2 cents.

My return shows it heading back to TX arriving Tuesday
That's good

Let's see how long it takes to process the return to sender order.

I used the officially return process after receiving the order yesterday. I dropped off at FedEx yesterday and delivering to Samsung on Tuesday. (Washington to Texas)

We'll have a direct comparison of both the process lol.

Hopefully, both will get the refund processed in a timely manner.

The refuse to delivery will stop any payment to the phone. That's the point in all of this RTS. Regardless how slow it is on the Samsung side of things.

My order was already fully paid. My credit card was charged $1000 plus change on July 9th.

For my case, there is no additional payment to be made for the phone, and getting that $1000 plus change refunded fast is the priority.

Oh wow, I didn't know Samsung charges the customer before the delivery. Mine never show during preordering. That's interesting. That's good info. Thanks for sharing that experience.

I'm pretty sure all companies charge when the order ships and not when delivery happens. The order won't ship without payment being processed.

Earlier Samsung used to charge when the order actually ships. But in the past few pre-orders they are generating the shipping label after 1-2 days of preordering and the charge is getting posted to the credit card after the shipping label is generated by Samsung. This is if you use a credit card, using PayPal, checking accounts etc it might be different but still will get charged before it ships.

From samsung.com

"Samsung will not charge your credit/debit card until your order is being prepared to ship from our warehouse, or is ready to pick up.

When you place your order, a pre-authorization hold for the funds will be put on your card for the total amount, plus all taxes, fees and shipping charges, if any. This hold allows us to begin processing and fulfilling your order.

When your order is getting ready to ship — or is ready for pick-up — the payment will be authorized, and the charge will occur.

Note: Orders placed with PayPal and Amazon Pay are charged immediately after the order is placed."
