HTC Desire X - Problems after Jelly Bean update

Hi guys,

Since I made the update of my HTC Desire X, 4 days ago, continuously watching different bugs. Update to 4.1.1 and Sense 4+. Software number 2.20.401.5
1. Phone itself change the volume, reduces it almost to the end. For 2 days it happens 5 times, this morning I missed a call because of this fact. Last night ringing level was normal, but in the morning had reduced itself.

2. The ring volume is very disappointing, before update, when beats audio was working without headphones, the phone sounded strong and great.

3.iGo Navigation that I use could be heard quite loudly before, after update, even with 100% increased volume key, barely hear it in a moving vehicle.

4. In the calendar whatever note I try to memorize (it appears a message which informed that the note is saved!!) disappeared straight away! And now, like I'm without calendar, no meetings can be scheduled.

I am totally disappointed!

And one more thing - the phone seems to work a bit more slowly than before. I don't have a lot of hooked applications, and there always have over 100 MB free RAM.

do a factory reset n wipe the cache ;)

Yes, as soon as I updated to JB, lot of bugs appeared including those mentioned in this tread, and even the FM radio app was nowhere to be found. I restarted the phone. No use. I read somewhere that a force restart would help. So, I force restarted my phone(hold the power button until the phone switches off, and then start it again). The FM radio app reappeared. And, some days later, I noticed that the caller ID was not shown while receiving a call. Again, a force restart solved the issue. And yet again after some days, force restart came to my rescue when I noticed that the media volume of the device went considerably low. But, in general the phone has slowed down after the update and even the battery drains off much faster than it used to do with ICS. I could not get rid of these with force restarts. Seems like stock OS works best with the phone. I really repent updating to JB. I mean, what is the purpose of upgrading a newer version, if it doesn't make your experience better. I did not see any positive differences between ICS and JB. There is one thing I still need to try... Factory reset. I hope this will make the performance better. Thanks Givers... :)

Hey Tejas.. I could never play any 720p videos...never... The device's hardware supports only up to 480p. The stock media player will throw an error if you try to play 720p videos. However MX player can play 720p videos in software rendering mode(provided that the bitrate of the 720p videos is considerably low as compared to the ideal bitrate(2-3 Mbps) of 720p videos). Ideal 720p videos lag like hell on desire X even on MX player.

Has anyone found a solution to these problems?
Im having issues the same as some others, SMS not displaying properly, not shoing contacts name, huge power drain compared to before the update, doesnt always charge when plugged into the HTC charger and generally much slower than it was before.

I've tried forced restart and factory reset without any luck, i'd really like to just go back to 4.0

Hi vikas, actually when i was using ICS i just used copy 720p vedio to the sd card and play...it was good. but after updating i need to convert it to 480p and then play.
The HTC Desire X ICS vedio playing capacity is 720p and the vedio recording capacity with the camera is 480p.

Hi All,
as suggested in the complete thread, I did perform a factory reset (hard reset). Even after that, the Beats Audio is still disabled with the following message "Beats Audio is not available on phone speakers". My handset is also Desire X. Is this an expected behavior or should the Beats Audio become accessible after a factory reset?

Thanks
