HTC Droid DNA - Anyone have the 4.4.2 Update yet?

I was wondering that myself. The house looks like just the indicator of a WiFi connection, and the other looks like the original WiFi indicator but with arrows showing data transfer. I don't know why we would need two of them. It just takes up extra notification bar real estate.

Add to that the fact that the 3G or 4G icon also remains, albeit disabled.

Can't print from the default Mail and Calendar app any longer. Printing from gallery works though.

My update has been downloading from 7:30 so 2 1/2 hours and its only at 9% its downloading at the slowest rate I've ever seen. My wifi is fine 15 mbps download.. I cant stop the download and Im scared to restart my phone because I dont want to mess up the update. Anyone else seeing this slow download rate?

Mine was kinda wonky during download. It stayed at 20% for almost 1/2 hour, then I kept poking at the icon and hitting the check update button, and it eventually sped up. Installation took forever too. From the time the download was done, to when the install button popped up was 45 minutes and 3 reboots later.

I've done updates on my thunderbolt and now my DNA and it always let's me use Wi-Fi but for some reason this update is using my 4g instead. I've tried restarting, turning off mobile data, airplane mode and Wi-Fi.. still using 4g. And I'm in a dead zone so it's downloading at .4 mbps. Has anyone had this problem before?

Can anyone verify if FoxFi still works after the update? Thanks!

Haven't done much research, but according to what people are saying in this forum: http://forums.androidcentral.com/verizon-galaxy-note-2/366997-verizon-note-2-foxfi-4-4-2-a.html unrooted Foxfi won't work with Kitkat. Thank god the download/installation didn't work for me the first time around--I'd rather keep my phone as-is with Foxfi, than upgrade to Kitkat :P.

I'm genuinely confused about the whole FCC thing regarding tethering--did literally nothing happen as a result? Why do we still have to use third-party apps to re-allow a feature that was artificially blocked by a carrier? I have 2GB on my account regardless of where I use it.

Notice the new Wifi notification (I actually have 2 now, one with a house - anybody know what that's about?)

Anyone figure out what the house icon is for?? I noticed it last night. But it is not there this morning...Maybe it means there are multiple android devices available for communication with one another. Or a TV that can display your phone??? Just guessing.

I'm wondering the same things. I noticed it when I got home from work yesterday. Thought, how does it known I'm home? Moreover, I'm HOME - why does it think it needs to let me know? :-)

I think I'm being made most crazy right now by these SMS app issues. I need more than one SMS app to work independently of each other on this phone.

Thanks, and I absolutely agree. Looks like I'll be passing on this update as well.

I believe the house is the notification that you are connected to someones extender. Those Network extenders that verizon sells that hook up to the internet.... my wifes Razr Maxx had this for a long time, i looked it up, my guess is that HTC is now just notifying people they are connected to a network extender.

One thing i noticed is that "android system" is eating 80% of my battery life in 1.5 hours and im down 10% on battery life after just an hour of use.

apps like wakelock detector no longer work without root access, but things i do like are the fact that the phone now tells you which apps are calling up the location settings and GPS.

i dont like how facebook took over my calendar by default, i dont give a crap that its someones bday get it off my calendar (i just removed the settings after digging a big, but should be off by default)

so far the update seems OK. My phone is sitting at 15.3 gigs used out of 16 though, which really stinks. I dont personally care about any color scheme changes. So far it is what it is.... foxfi isnt a deal breaker for me since i really have no reason to teather personally, but i can see how its a deal breaker for some.

I literally sit under a 4g antenna at work. I just did a speed test using the speed test app, 21.38 down and 7.63 up.... so even though i only have 3 bars, it doesnt look like my speed took a hit. I have an iphone 5s as my work phone on verizon, and it always showed 3 bars where my DNA would show full... now they match, so maybe the DNA was inflating the signal?

I sit under a cell site at work too and my bars are full...

I really hate how they removed the stay awake while charging, now I have to hit the power button every time I want to skip a music track while driving, very annoying!!
