HTC Evo 4G Best Buy Pre Sales Started TODAY!!!

If the $10 a month sticks, I am going on a crusade to see how much data I can actually use per month on my phone.

I'm going to go to my nearest Best Buy and put down a deposit, I'm really excited for this phone! And I don't mind the $10.00 fee, I too, will be using as much data as I can to get the most out of my $10.00, it's only fair, and I'll be paying for the Hot Spot feature as well. =]

Do you guys think I lessen my chances of getting a phone on launch day if I don't pre order until Sunday? I am flying to Cali and won't be back until Sunday evening! :(

Don't worry too much about it... If you miss the "deadline" to pre-order, just hop in line at your local Sprint store at 6am on June 4th. There's nothin like a good camp out. (I wouldn't expect you'd have to get there much earlier than that, which I guess doesn't make it much of a camp out)

I like that idea. My Pre is not much faster and depending on where I am a work and home Wi-Fi can be slower than EVDO.

time for some 0wn4ge.

our best buy doesn't open till 10am so I have about 2 hours to go before going to best buy.

This is a nice phone, but I don't think that VZW will let Sprint have the "top dog" for long. They will release something better than the EVO, and it will be on the best network! After all, VZW is the "King of Android".

haha 1st!

Update: Say on the guys. I was told thwy had no Pre-order then told it was online only THEN he checked the computer and said: "oh there it is, cool".

My fear is that there will be a lot of misinformation simply because the $10 extra charge without 4G makes no sense, so a lot of Sprint reps will assume that must be wrong and only for 4G. But then the charge will show up on people's bills.

BTW, Jason taylor is a spokesperson for Sprint-Nextel and could not be more clear:

There have been a TON of questions about this monthly Premium Data charge. I hope this will clear things up.

If you buy the Sprint 4G EVO, you have to pay this $10 charge each month. This is specific to the device. It's not related to whether you are using 3G or 4G. It is required if you have the phone.

Because the phone has a faster processor, a huge 4.3 inch screen and an 8 megapixel camcorder/camera, we expect you will be using a lot more data than you would with our other devices. These features will give you capabilities that have previously never been available on a wireless device and we think they provide a premium experience. (Remember, this is the world's first 3G/4G Android phone.)

Just pre-ordered mine!!!!!!!!!!! I'll be there bright & early 6/4!

GUYS
Quick question - If you buy directly from Sprint, they have a 30 day money-back where you don't even have to pay for your monthly plan charge and basically can return it in 20 days and not pay a single penny (20 days of completely free voice and data service)

If you buy through Best Buy, is it the same policy? I'm just concerned that sprint coverage may not be great in my office and may have to return it (no sprint users in the office currently to ask)

Thank you!

What happens if purchase it at BB using an available upgrade on a family plan and ESN swap it to another line on the same plan?

Personally I'm waiting to pre order directly from Sprint telesales. I've never been too keen on purchasing my devices from anywhere but the carrier or manufacturer.

Not to sound snarky, but why? I was thinking of preordering through BB just so I dont have to deal with the mail in rebate, but if there is a good reason to order it right from Sprint I may wait and do so.

Thoughts?

Honestly it's just my opinion. I've always just preferred to go through the carrier and manufacturer. Now if you could pre order online and have it shipped... Possibly.
