HTC EVO 4G Showing garbled text on notification pane

I have an un-rooted Virgin Mobile HTC Evo 4G and much of the notification pane text has become unreadable (see attached image). I am thinking this may be some kind of font corruption but don't know how to fix it. Any suggestions?

Whoa, that's weird. Have you tried rebooting yet?

Aha! It looks like i have fixed my own problem. I had rebooted multiple times with no success ... until I went into settings and turned off the Fast Boot option. Now the problem has gone away.

That's good to hear. I wonder why Fast Boot would have corrupted the font?

I am guessing that something else corrupted the font and Fast Boot was using some cached (corrupted) version and not reloading.
