First post here and hope this is the right spot. So i'm just wondering after some people using the phone this week if they have noticed this.

After 24 hours of use I noticed my phone was using automatic brightness so I turned that off and had it on full brightness. I was playing a game, not even graphics intensive (Candy Crush Saga) i'm afraid to admit lol but after only 10 minutes the phone was literally so hot I couldn't hold it normally with my fingers on the back. Now I know the phone will get hot with high brightness and graphics intensive stuff, and it's a metal phone, but this was too hot to touch. Is that normal just for being a metal phone? or is mine hotter than everyone elses?

I'm not terribly worried about the heat as long as it's not damaging, because I plan to get a case so it wont burn my fingers lol but i'm worried it might damage the phone. I'm not sure if it will melt the insides or if it will act like a cpu heatsink and dissipate the heat AWAY from everything. Anyways, any help is greatly appreciated. Just seeing if anyone is having this issue.

Also unrelated but hopefully someone knows, is there a reason an app that was compatible with the HTC One X that I had is now no longer compatible with My HTC One? Everything is better and upgraded on this phone, why would the app NOT work now on a newer better phone, just wondering. The app in question is Amazing Alex HD. Never played it, and don't care if I can't but was just wondering in case I come across this in an app I really want. Thank again everyone for any help.

I don't have the one but as far as the app thing gos the developer has to code the game for the phone so he would have to update the app to make it compatible. so I would email the developer and ask him to do so.

I got the one today. Been playing real racing 3 and the phone got pretty hot too. Checked a battery monitoring app and it said the battery was 115* F.

Ty for the reply about the app. I will have to give that a shot.

About the overheating. I just loaded up candy crush saga and let it sit. 100% brightness, I wasn't even playing. it was just on the menu and it got to 110*F and that was after about 10 minutes at the most. I worry what other games would do. I'm not sure if this is the highest it will get but it just seems so hot. Especially because after some googling it looks like the battery melts at 140*F lol

My DNA got up to 165f and the battery did not melt only happened once, but it could be caused by an app not working properly.

I agree. The game might not be optimized for the One. Remember, it is a quad core so I imagine the programming of how it handles the extra processors could be a big part. Try a couple of new high end free game and let us know what you find out.

Mine gets warm when paying candy crush saga too. Probably an issue with the apps code

Mine is always warm whether I'm playing a game or if I'm constantly using my phone. Must be that quad core power :) At least it's a good hand warmer if you're out in the cold, lol.
