the guy releasing the info was in our chatroom the other night...he said that he needs to sign some docs to release the info. it should be happening this weekend, maybe even today.

Once all the deets are out it will be nice to finally have it out in the open and more of a focus on multiple forums so Verizon/HTC will see the need to get it out on time.

Stupid question, but what is LTE?

I'm holding out for this device. I bought my li'l ol' Eris last year when it was new and it was outdated within months. I want to get something that will be top of the line for a while!

I know exactly how you feel. i bought my eris almost when it first became available. i thought it was sooo cool. now my brother has the Dinc. and needless to say im rather jealous of how his phone even now is pretty much top of the line in many respects.

Ok, hearing that this phone is LTE makes it much more appealing. I just sincerely hope that the internals that were posted earlier aren't accurate. Think it's too early to hope that the LTE radio isn't a huge battery drain?

More than Likely there will be two Dinc HD's from this info that we have so far. One a 3G verson that should be released very shortly and a second 4G unit that will release around spring.

As usual this is all speculation but is the general concensus until VZW decides to let us in on the great plan.

The LTE phone's are supposed to be using Dual core processors which are supposed to help battery life, but only time will tell.

I don't think every lte phone will be dual core and this could be one. But from what I read don't expect the lte version before mar 2011 but I'm cool with that I just want to be done with this droid 2

There is no requirement that an LTE Phone will have dual core. The dual cores are just starting up in the phones the same way they did in the desktops. You've milked all you can from a single core and now it makes sense to multi threaded processes and processors to allow for more efficiency.

I highly doubt you'll see a 3g Inc HD and than a 4G Inc HD soon after. I am thinking VZW will release the Droid Pro, Samsung Continuum and HTC Merge as their last devices this year. Jan in CTIA they will announce the LTE smart phones and you'll get the HTC Droid Inc HD. I know HTC is testing an LTE device with VZW. So I think you'll see this device as soon as Jan or February. I might be waiting on this myself, but it will depend on what gets announced at CTIA in January. RIM may keep me if the Storm 3 is really running the Martell Armada 628 triple core CPU and running a QNX based OS. But that may not be enough for RIM.

Agreed. I didn't mean all lte would be, but I do think that the trend will be for the high end devices to go in that direction.

Well I've read from two different sources that their are two different versions of this phone lte and 3g with the 3g coming soon. But we will see I have no problem getting a 3g version seeing I would have to wait for lte to launch in my area before I could fully utilize an lte phone

Thinking about it the msm8650 doesn't have the radio for wimax built in but the evo uses that chip so that shouldn't rule out the 8655 in an lte phone

This phone is not going to come out this month. It is not even in the hand of Verizon's Corporate Office yet. If the 3G Version is going to come out it will be December 2010 or may be they might just push it to LTE all together and not have the 3G version. Which mean the 1st Q of next year. I was told that Verizon Representatives and Some people in the Corporate office get the phone a 3 weeks to a month before it is announced.. I know it to be true because the guy who works at the Corporate office had the Droid X on him before it was announced in our Vanpool. He is the reason I got the DX. He told me he have not seen anything about the phone other then the articles I showed him from Boy Genius site and Android Central. He said that as of now it is to late for this phone to come out this month. Because it is not in hand yet...
