HTC Incredible on VZ

I pulled the below specs off of another forum and I am now very confused. The list shows 'ROM - 6.6-6.8 GB writable phone storage'. Can this be true when the specs on the N1 have the ROM at 512?

Confirmed:
1 Ghz Snapdragon processor (QSD8650) (245 Mhz at idle)
RAM - 512 MB (320 usable...like N1...more to become available with OS update)
ROM - 6.6-6.8 GB writable phone storage
8 MP camera (Dual flash and AF)
Android 2.1
Sense UI (w/ Friendstream)
Optical track pad (vs. "ball")
3.7 inch screen
WVGA resolution
AMOLED
1300 MaH battery
FM Tuner
802.11 b/g
Dimensions: 117.5 mm (L) x 58.5 mm (w) x 11.9 mm (T)
No 720p recording
No multitouch BUG as found in N1

Unconfirmed:
8GB MicroSDHC card
RAM - Possibly 1 gig...further confirmation needed
Noise canceling dual mic? (like on Nexus One)
Release date: March, 27th, 2010

Now to add to my confusion even more the below specs are from AndroidandMe
http://androidandme.com/2010/03/news/new-verizon-htc-incredible-pics-and-specs/

Rumored specs of the HTC Incredible include:

768 MHz 1 GHz Snapdragon processor QSD8650
3.7 inch AMOLED screen WVGA resolution
6 GB ROM, 1 GB RAM
8 MP camera with dual LED flash and AF
Android 2.1 with Sense UI
Optical track pad
1300 mAh battery
Shipping with 8GB MicroSDHC card
FM Tuner
Dimensions: 117.5 mm (L) x 58.5 mm (w) x 11.9 mm (T)

Could it be that the N1 is meant to really be a 'developer phone' and not necessarily marketed at the general public? Maybe the N1 is on every major network, but you can't buy it in their stores, and gets all updates first so that those developers have time to program for the newest OS and the rest of the phones, such as the Incredible, Droid, SuperSonic, etc, are the high-end phones for the general public. Google gave away thousands of N1s' to developers and sold many thousands online to true phone geeks (no dis-respect intended at all) that couldn't wait to see what else is in the pipe. Maybe the N1 gets the release first, the true phone geeks stress test it for them without really knowing that is what they are doing, then the rest of us get the end result? Could it be that the Incredible may actually have better specs than the N1? I guess what I am suggesting here is a conspircy by Google with a long range plan that would give them the very best product available for some time to come. Please let me know if I am thinking straight on this or just very confused and way off base.

Well I don't think the Incredible would be released on March 27 simply because that's a Saturday.

I think your on the right path with this. Why else would Verizon carry two very similar phones?

Verizon won't actually carry it, it will be sold by Google and will handle VZW's network, but other than that VZW has no input or control over the device unlike the Incredible

Wow

Well we now know the EVO will probably be a flagship HTC phone this year & VZW Incredible will be a little less in a few areas but still comparable I would suppose. I'm still disapointed that Us Carriers have chosen not to have front facing cameras along with the back side. You see it a lot in european high end phones. Kinda funny how Sprint is the first One I've seen here......grrrr Lmao. Lets hope the incredible is at least similar.

I spoke to my VZW Rep yesterday, and he got his hands on the incredible for the first time. He said the device is beautiful, and gave me a launch date for the end of April. He confirmed the 6G of ROM and 512mb of RAM, and all the other specs you guys probably already know. The only thing he couldn't confirm was if the processor was underclocked to 768mhz.

i wonder if the screen will be better on the Incredible. I really want the nexus one for the early updates.

Does any other phone have a fm tuner in it and if so any word on how well it works? I have never seen this feature.

So i'm feeling pretty good about an April 1st release for the Incredible only because the buy one get one deal ends on the 31st. Also on march 18th, there was a bunch of articles based on an inside tip from Verizon stating that it would drop in two weeks time, which leads to the exact date of the 1st.... The only sketchy thing is there has been absolutely zero advertisements which is puzzling. I know before the original storm came out Verizon was advertising it way in advance and very heavily...Here's to hoping!! Anybody have any input??

Hate to break it to you, but Incredible isn't coming out anywhere close to April, or even this Spring. Late Fall/November timeframe is the actual release time.

there's tons of talk about the Eris being discontinued also BOGO on March 31 and the Incredible to be released on April 1st. Only time will tell. I'm waiting to see what happens also. I hope the release date is soon.

Hate to break it to you.... but Verizon received the Incredibles and now have them out to employees for testing. It'll be out within two weeks...

Not far off...

I can confirm this. I know for a fact that the VP in my area has been using his for a little while and from what has been told to me, the device is the second coming of Jesus himself.

I'm glad i ts getting out now. I have an upgrade in mid June. That gives it a couple months for bugs and kinks to be know and that will make my choice between the increadible and n1 easier.

Well I do have to say this, one way or the other I am dropping my blackberry in favor of an Android Phone or iPhone....personally I'm fed up with them & all the issues that follow like data outages or horrible OS's or hell even waiting to get an actual approved OS roll out. I would love to get this phone over in iPhone and I have a good notion that it will show up in the coming 2-3weeks. VZW doesn't want to loose too much thunder from the Sprint EVO like they already have. But Hey who knows @ this point.....the speculation has gone crazy the last 2 weeks. Sux for us I suppose just hope it's: 8mp, 1Ghz, 6gb ROM, 1gb RAM, & with sense UI too.
