HTC Incredible ship by dates: how accurate are they?

It appears as though that a majority of people (90% or so) are receiving their phones anywhere from 1 to 4 days before the date they were quoted. Not a surprise, as the dates they are handing out are 'SHIP BY' dates, meaning your phone should be out for delivery by that date.

As for production catch-up, I assume the phone will start going out quicker at some point. We may see ship dates start to shrink more in the next couple weeks (people getting their phones much sooner than expected). But, since the issue lies in Samsung not being able to produce the AMOLED screens fast enough, its doubtful that they would beef up production this late in the game. I assume the issue initially stemmed from the popularity of the phone taking VZW by surprise, and they probably didn't pre-order a large enough count to keep up with demand. So, it turned into this "make 'em, ship 'em" production line.

Same thing with the storm and storm 2, didnt anticipate the demand. Hope i get mine sooner and not later!

Ordered on 5/14 online. Website said it would ship by 6/1, CSR said by the 3rd. It shipped on the 27th FedEx 2nd day but due to the Holiday I didn't get it till the 1st. But I got it the day they said it would ship by so it was about what I was told.

Its been less than 3 weeks for a while. Most people are getting their phones between 16 and 19 days (including weekends, even though phones only ship M-F) after the date of order. But the concerning thing is that the VZW website, which was list 3 weeks from date of purchase for delivery, is now showing over a month (31 days) for delivery. So, this could mean a couple things:
1 - Orders have increased over the last few days/week.
2 - Samsung is losing the battle of making screens fast enough
3 - Samsung does not have immediate plans to make screens faster
4 - Perfect Storm: All of the above.

In short, if you haven't ordered your phone or ordered it within the last week, you may have a longer wait than any of us.

My thoughts? Those people who were waiting for the iPhone unveiling, hoping it was coming to Verizon, had to 'move on' once they realized it wasn't happening. Probably got a glut of people ordering Androids, including the already backordered Incredible.

Two things: first, you're getting the Incredible the same day as me.

Second, I think the iPhone 4 fallout is right. It's not coming to Verizon, so a bunch of people ( I.e. Reugular consumers) are getting the DROID Incredible, since it's the best smartphone on the network.

No, I think that we will get them around the time we were told. Maybe even slightly earlier.

My ship by date was 6/9, from a 5/19 order date. I got it on 6/7, a Monday. It seems that people are getting these phones somewhere between 2-7 days early, depending on region.

I think I ordered mine the sameday you did and was told the 29th or sooner.The posted date on the vzw website then was 6/29 .She said it was possible I might get it sooner but made no promise

I ordered mine on 5/25 through Telesales. Told it would ship before 6/15. Just got shipping notice this morning 6/13. looks like they are very close to original dates posted right now. mybe one or two days early.

@ csw6478 I have the same shipping date but I have Overnight shipping. It was picked up this morning but still expected to be delivered on the 15th. Doesnt sound like overnight shipping to me.

ordered mine 5-25 with estimated ship date 6-14. got confirmation today 6-13 that it had been picked up and would be delievered by 6-15.

So Right on with what they told me.

Mine was a scheduled ship date of 6/10 & it shipped 6/4. That was a nice surprise. Also got the free 2 gb SD card even tho I didn't order under that promo.

I ordered mine Saturday the 12th. I am supposed to get it July 9th. The wait is killing me. Hopefully they will ship out really early but I highly doubt it. I am hoping for at least July 5th delivery date

The 5th might be possible. But I wouldn't count on it shipping 'really early'. So far, the estimated shipping date has been right on.

The shipping dates have been pretty clockwork thus far. People who ordered on the 26th seem to be getting their phones tomorrow (2 days before the quoted date), 27th orders on the 16th (again 1 to 2 days before quoted date), and so on. Just count off the days and go from there (sans weekends).

As discussed in another post of mine, the wrench in this plan would be those who have ordered their phone last week as of about Tuesday (after the Apple WWDC). Since then, the VZW date has moved up to 4 weeks instead of 3. But, I think the general rule of thumb is to take the ship by date you received when you ordered, and shave a day or two off of it. That seems to be the general 'phone in hand' date.
