Hi everyone, my htc m8 is stuck in recovery mode, Htc said I can send it back to them and they will try to fix it but I will lose everything on my phone, family pictures, important information etc etc, is there anyway I can get my phone out of recovery mode or save everything on my phone, ie do a back up whilsts its in recovery mode. I really will be heartbroken if I can't get my data music pictures etc from the phone. I CAN ONLY GET ONTO SCREEN WITH RECOVERY MODE. thanks

Have you rooted the device or unlocked the bootloader? What did you do to get to this point? Did you have Google Photos backing up your pictures? I think HTC asked if you wanted to have it do that. Hopefully they backed up somewhere!

Sorry to hear this is happening. Knowing how we got to this position will help with how we solve it.

well I did a update you know when you get updates automatically and on upon doing so, it just jammed and now is stuck, I have attached two photos of what screens I can get up but this is it thanks.

Aaahh... So you did an OTA update on an unlocked and rooted phone?! Yeah, you did a number on that one. Do you have the EXACT version of the ROM you were running? You could try installing that over ADB. I would guess you've lost everything and will start over with a new phone, but it's worth a shot. Good luck.

You should be able to RUU back to stock. I think you need to change the CID manually back to your original carrier, and then with a windows PC, download the proper RUU, and let it rip.
