HTC Media Link with note 8?

Is it possible to use my note 8 with my media link? Rooted or not?

My cousin who has a S3 was able use it, but limited, worked like any other dlna device. Unlike HTC device I'm able to mirror my phone screen on my TV and car screen with 3 finger swipe up.
With your Samsung device, I would buy a Samsung Allshare Dongle, works well for my cousin.
