HTC Merge to be Unveiled November 18th?

Any early indications on whether the Merge is actually releasing tomorrow the 18th?

I chose to get the D2G, I do prefer HTC hardware, but the on/off rumored announcements and dates kept coming and going and I finally had to draw a line in the sand. I chose it and will root it and move forward. Life isn't perfect and neither is any mobile phone.

From what I've read there's some pretty great vanilla froyo roms out there that make the phone completely worth it

Hopefully, the Merge will launch within 30-days though. That way you can still get it.

I just called my local verizon and asked when its coming out.. his response

" Im not even sure if its making its way to verizon"

wouldnt we have SOME info if it was coming out tomorrow?!!

Phil- Hear anything today about if its actually coming tomorrow?

Did the same, and will continue to look for the Merge to appear (and again, hopefully in the next 27 days).

FWIW: I'm having terrible battery-life issues so far and trying to figure out what's up with that (posting in the D2 forum about it).

Good Luck, All!

just thought id post another source!!!

HTC Merge Hitting Verizon Wireless Tomorrow

My gut feeling is that one source said the Merge was coming or being announced tomorrow. Then other website started saying it too. I want this phone to come out already but wouldnt Verizon announce the Specs first or wouldnt other sites have hands on reviews already? it just seems weird they would randomly release it. I would think they would want to advertise.

This is Journalism at its worst:

@ Likenmerge - Agreed.

Maybe not 'at its worst', but definitely poor journalism...this link references Erictric.com, follow the referenced sources: Erictric --> Android Community --> Brighthand --> droid life = same source, and already debunked.

I can't stand the amount of paraphrased regurgitation on these rumored devices...

who knows.. this time tomorrow we will either be saying

" i ordered mine" or

" when is this phone going to come out"

i thought reps had to be trained before a phones release. so since the ones i spoke today didnt see it in there system and the other didnt know what "merge" was that didnt make me feel confident!

Don't play with my emotions! Ok at this point if it turns up in the system tomorrow I am dropping the hammer. Never buy things till they've been weighed and measured, but this phone has been found wanted ... by me.

unless the up the specs! maybe 1ghz instead of 800mhz and a 8mp cam instead of 5mp! maybe a 3.9" screen oooo
The 800mhz processor is faster then the 1ghz processor in the Incredible. It is a second generation snapdragon so it is more efficient per clock and uses less energy.

Image quality is also based on pixel density in the sensor, not just the amount of pixels. More pixels = more density = worse quality (for a given size sensor). So more MP does not necessarily constitute a better image.

I think the specs of this phone are just fine and wont be outdated anytime soon.

yes thank you this is what i've been saying the whole time!

In case you're not jumping all over the net trying compile the latest news and rumors on this phone:

Hands-on HTC merge training - Android Forums (i.e. rumor that Merge will be released pre-LTE with a follow-up LTE version later - training is going on - stores are receiving dummy phones ... not sure how much time that translate to)

I don't know why I'm obsessed with this phone. There is just something about that keyboard and the look and HTC/VZW/Android combo. The only real negative is possibly the 384mb of RAM rather than 512mb (if that's true), but everything else sounds just great.
