HTC Merge to be Unveiled November 18th?

In case you're not jumping all over the net trying compile the latest news and rumors on this phone:

Hands-on HTC merge training - Android Forums (i.e. rumor that Merge will be released pre-LTE with a follow-up LTE version later - training is going on - stores are receiving dummy phones ... not sure how much time that translate to)

I don't know why I'm obsessed with this phone. There is just something about that keyboard and the look and HTC/VZW/Android combo. The only real negative is possibly the 384mb of RAM rather than 512mb (if that's true), but everything else sounds just great.

good info. if there is a refresh in early 2011, then maybe i would wait. i still want to see if verizon iphone comes out in January.. what is new Sense UI?

well idk what to do ... 95% of me wants to just give up and get the droid 2 (partly because the be-blurred vanilla froyo rom) but the other 5% wants me to hold on and wait for this ... the only thing is my pixi+ is dieing slowly day by day. :/

Ooooooo, don't do that. The keyboard is so much better on the Merge.

Agreed. I have had similar thoughts. If knew for certain that the Merge was delayed for several months would likely grab an X or Fascinate (root/ROM and good times are had by all). Only thing worse than no keyboard is a terrible one (useful only with a GameGripper).

The 23rd is my new D Day. If it doesn't come out I might jump on a Black Friday deal or let the torture continue.

VZW is launching LTE in December (I saw this announced on the VZW site late last night). Unless they are switching on with only laptop cards they need a phone to go with the launch. Is there a chance the Merge already has the LTE radios and is ready to go? Boy can dream.

lol. I would imagine. HTC has a thing for making kick-ass keyboards, but honestly I'll stick it through the end of November, maybe half way through December for this baby! XD

Pretty unlikely. Still not expecting LTE phones before Feb., probably.

That seems a bit odd. Seems like they could sell a ton of phones if they had one ready. Still, I don't know that I need LTE (it's in my area) - barely can justify the 3G charge as I have Wifi everywhere except in the car so I almost don't want to be forced to pay for it to get this phone.

Getting tired of waiting on this phone. I wanted a HTC keyboard phone. But if I have to wait too long I'll go without a keyboard. However, it will most likely be a WP7 or iPhone on Verizon.
