Hi all,

I was wondering if anyone here knew anymore info on when we should be getting the 4.2 update. I last heard something about it a couple of weeks ago and nothing since. Anything new to report?

That's all I heard as well, other rumor is 4.2 will be released when Verizon gets One in a few weeks. Lastly that HTC has 4.3 and will release 3rd quarter...who knows? Hope it's true but by then we will be asking when does key lime pie come to One B-)

I haven't heard anything. I don't think it really matters, either.

Well, HTC hasn't said anything about any 4.2 update yet. And you can bet AT&T will take a little while after the international version gets released.

I was realy feeling like i was the only one in the at&t camp that cared about this,. Sprint got one devices and nolonger then 2 weeks later they were upgraded to 4.2,2. I was told by the end of june but , the problem with that story is ,its the end of june now smfh!!!

Really? I'm with sprint and I haven't gotten a update to 4.2.2

Anything you hear regarding a release date will be a bunch of crap. We've been hearing about this update for ages now and seen nothing yet.

I'm on Sprint. We didn't get 4.2. We DID get a minor 4.1 update.

Im flashed to 4.2 at the moment w/ HTC sense intact, honestly I don't see what the fuzz is about since HTC sense already brought out the more important features of android 4.2.
Apart from the readily accessible settings via notification bar I don't really see much else imho.

I agree, I use WidgetLocker & HD Widgets to give me easier access the the Quick Settings but THE reason why I want the update is the MENU button using the home key.

Nobody should even ask when. HTC has said they are working on it. When you see the 64GB developer edition and the 32GB unlocked version get it, then you know the carriers have it and will work on getting it released on their phones. There is no point in asking about this. Watch for when the developer edition and the unlocked version get their updates. Once they do, everything else is up to your specific carrier (a.k.a. when they get around to putting their bloatware on it and testing it to make sure it's good). Figure it will be at least a couple months after these 2 phones get it. Why bother asking?

And going from 4.1.2 to 4.2.2 isn't going to be earth shattering. So there's probably no reason to cry about it. And if you don't like it, you should buy a Nexus. This IS the way it works. This IS how it has always worked. Get a Nexus if you want updates or get a carrier/international phone if you want the manufacturer UI. And then there will be crying when the phone is updated to 4.2.2 and 4.3 is released released already. You guys do realize that after putting months of effort into upgrading to 4.2.2 that they can't magically upgrade your phone to 4.3, right? They start again and spend several months trying to get to 4.3 with their UI's baked in.

I live in Chicago and know a developer for Motorola. It takes 9 months minimum for a phone to be ready for the public on whatever version of Android they are working with. So it's very possible that a phone with a manufacturer UI will release with an Android version that isn't current. That's just the way it goes.

The big reason for going Developer Edition was to bypass all of the BS carrier crap and get straight to a solid 4.2.2 custom ROM, still trying to pick the right one but I have it narrowed down to a few out of the 8 or so I was looking at. In the end Developer Edition would likely get it first, International with it, and US carriers will be last. I read today (rumors) that Verizon will get the HTC One Max but may NOT get the HTC one, but not sure that is valid by any stretch since the are having a fire sale on the HTC DNA to make room.

If Verizon gets the HTC One in July, and it comes with 4.2.2 then it would seem very likely it would be released and other carriers would want it out as well so Verizon isn't one upping them.

Given at&t's track record with HTC u estimate 9-12 months after HTC releases it before we see it. Gotta make sure AT&T Locker, drivemode and paid navigation (honestly is there anyone not working for AT&T that uses this over Google nav) are all 4.2 and locked in place....

Battery % in status bar, quick settings and the Menu fix make this update well worth salivating over

Apparently the final 4.2.2 update will also add a new lockscreen style called "Widgets"...I'm interested to see HTC's take on this 4.2.2 feature.

Please let them improved the Bluetooth stack. Not having notifications thru Bluetooth is really 2005-like.
