HTC One A9 pre order , shipping wait room

Hello. I ordered a Sprint version of the HTC One A9 on Oct. 30th and I have yet to receive a tracking number for my device. I just got off of the phone with an HTC rep that is telling me that I'm not the only one that has been waiting this long. The HTC rep told me that the Sprint versions started shipping on 11/23. How is it possible that there are so many pre-orders ahead of mine that HTC can fulfill all the pre-orders? I find it very hard to believe that this model was so highly sought after and that HTC didn't produce enough devices to meet demand. Don't most manufacturers make more than they anticipate selling? Then later sell the overstock at a discount? The worst part about it is that HTC is unwilling to give me an actual expected delivery date. Would be helpful to know so that I can make a decision on cancelling my order or waiting another 1-2 weeks. I love HTC products, but I hope they start selling them at actual stores that you can walk out of with your device. I had a worse experience with Motorola X Pure Edition. I highly suggest that you don't purchase from Motorola, especially if you have to return a device for a refund. Been over 6 weeks since Motorola received my device and I have yet to see a penny towards my refund. Has anyone with a Sprint version in the opal received their order? If you have, when was your pre-order date? The HTC rep told me that they go by their queue..... Really, 6 business days worth of pre-orders ahead of mine????? Highly Highly unlikely..

I pre-ordered carbon gray on Oct 25th Sprint and still nothing about tracking. I called over the weekend to cancel and they gave me $100 credit to not cancel. Supposed to receive an email sometime after I get the phone for the credit. Was also told it "should" ship by Dec 2nd. My status still shows that my preorder will begin shipping mid November...

Planning to pick up the unlocked one locally ... Anyone can confirm what's the model # for the US unlocked version. Want to make sure I'm buying the right one .

Good luck getting your sprint version. I had ordered on 11/1, was told 4 or 5 times it was to be shipped on 11/20, then 11/23 now wait, it's packaged up and it's going out on 11/24.

Then I decided to switch from sprint to tmobile and figured well it'd be easier to just change to an unlocked version since it hasn't shipped yet. Wow, the one guy got rude and angry with me for wanting to swap and told me to order a new one at 499, and call back to cancel my 399 order. He wouldn't even let me talk to a manager.

Needless to say, I didn't do that. I called back and got this wonderful guy named Fred. And I do mean wonderful. He helped me place a new order, gave me the same discount and free 2 day shipping. And then after confirming it was done, cancelled my original order.

My phone was here Monday for my partner, and the tmobile Sims were here yesterday. So far he's loving the phone. It's fast, battery seems to last him, but with QC 2.0, and soon to be 3.0, it's not a problem anyways.

Got a shipping notice at 3 pm today that my deep garnet One shipped. The one day late seems like it might result in Monday delivery on Dec 7th rather than the 4th I hoped for. Will update when it arrives. Very excited!

Congrats guys and gals! Johnie loves his phone! I think it looks sexy! I will say that it IS slippery add heck. I got him a case to help with that - a clear one.

He really wants a holster and there aren't many of those out there, so he's dealing with a leather one meant for a desire 626 until more are available.

Damn, seeing you guys getting your deep garnet makes me jealous, I'm still waiting for mine to shipped, I pick the Next Day AM delivery.

I'm still bummed us Verizon users are left out of all the HTC A9 fun. Aside from the Nexus phones, there isn't much choice at VZ aside from Crapple or Samsung and I hate Samsungs touchwiz.

The wait is over for my wife's Unlocked Deep Garnet A9. We got the tracking information on Thursday, a day after I had expected, and we did end up receiving the phone on Monday, Dec 7th.

After reaching out again to Mo Versi and reading up online, I expect Verizon to not be ready for the One A9 until Jan or Feb 2016. For this reason, my wife decided to be the guinea pig and switch to T-Mobile so that we could get service on the phone and really test it out. So far she is loving the device. The build quality is perfect (no surprise from HTC), the fingerprint scanner works lightning fast and responsiveness on the device is ultra snappy in general. Very impressed by the Snapdragon 617 so far. We let the device run down to 3% so that I could test the Quick Charge 3.0 Charger I bought from Aukey on Amazon. I was expecting is to meet the 2.0 charging speeds knowing that the software update has not yet been released for the 3.0 speed. My first 15 minute charge test was very disappointing, as the device went from 3% battery to 5% after 15 minutes. Again, the device may have been still syncing items and installing apps, but the screen was off and it was plugged into the 3.0 charger. The good news is that an OTA update popped up that night and the device went from under 10% battery up to around 60-70% while the OTA installed. I will post more information regarding the Quick Charge as I get more test data.

Some things to note again - devices bought from HTC.com do not include headphones in the box. This is a small price to pay and you can honestly get great earbuds on Amazon for cheap anyways or use a pair from your last smartphone. Android Marshmallow will have you enter your passcode/pattern to decrypt the device every time you power it on from an off state. This is a mandatory security feature of Android 6.0 and later and is meant to protect you from thieves. The Deep Garnet color is not quite as vivid as some of the video's I have seen online. It all depends on how the light hits your device and sunlight vs indoors can vary. In indoor lighting, the device will appear slightly more on the maroon side with the hint of metallic and red tints. Outdoors, I feel that you get much more of the red color tone and it really appears more vivid. Battery life does go pretty quick for the first couple days while everything settles. When you get a new phone, of course you are going to toy with it a little more often while you get everything setup the way you want it. I will report back once my wife gets a few more days on the device and will compare it to the battery life she was getting from her LG G3. So far, she is very happy to be back on an HTC phone (M7 user before her G3) and the performance has been great.

I bought the HTC 2.0 quick charger. I have to say, it is amazing! I did not plug my phone in overnight as I usually do. The phone was at 31% when I woke. I plugged the new charger in and it was at 100% in somewhere around 45 minutes. I don't have an exact time since I wasn't expecting it to be that fast. I walked away from the phone for awhile and when I came back it was fully charged.

I have to agree with onlyclarity, the build quality is fantastic and I really love the garnet.

I had a very good experience with HTC. My old m8 broke (dropped it) and I needed a new phone. I reached out to Jason McKenzie (HTC president) and he took care of my delayed shipping when I pre-ordered the deep garnet. Although they shouldn't have dropped the ball by delaying orders and frustrated me. They went above and beyond to get me my phone ASAP. BTW the a9 is excellent.

I've been really impressed with the charger that came with the phone. It's my understanding that this is NOT a quick charge 2.0 charger, correct? If the 2.0/3.0 does better it'll be worth the cost.
