This phone is touted for its low light imaging capability. But I get this purple shade on the photos during low light snaps. Do others also have this problem? Any way around this issue? Or should I ask for a replacement?

I'd go for a replacement. I've never seen that on mine.

Thanks for the reply. It was so discouraging to see no one reply. I had this same post on TheVerge forums and nobody turned in for help. I shall check with my retailer.

Yes that's not right at all. Get it replaced.

HTC One - Unlocked, ARHD 12, Bulletproof Kernel, Several mods.
Nexus 7 - Cyanogenmod
Tab 2 7 - Cyanogenmod

Looks to me like the two moons of tatoine through a purple lace.

What is that a picture of? If not a purple curtain, then something looks wrong.

What were you trying to take a picture of?

The picture is that of my wall where the 2 dots are one from the tower fan and the other from an extension cord.
For a better understanding, see this pic with the same purple shade:

I am having the same problem after 2 months and after 4.2.2 update. It could be a software problem and only happens in low light situation. Hopefully it is not hardware problem. Touted as THE lowlight camera but it is the worst lowlight performance I have seen on any camera. Contacting HTC service centre and hopefully Android Central can highlight this as well. Thanks for posting .

hey did u get this replaced..?? i just noticed the same on my phone aswell...
if HTC does indeed replace are they gonna give a new unit or a refurbished one..?? because that can be a bit dicey with those panel gap issues..my unit is perfect in every respect apart from the stupid camera...so confused whether to replace or not..

HTC is aware of the issue and is planning on a fix with the 4.3 update rolling out shortly.

They said low light. Not no light. It looks like ur getting a reflection from the lens or lens cover coating or just the processor trying to make an image. Alot of phone cameras do that when there's really no light at all.

I had an HTC one which I gave to my son but we never had that problem. Sounds like a defective camera. Have it replaced.

The most 3rd class phone I have ever seen. HTC TVS center in lajpat nagar in Delhi is like road side shop, they are not using any safety device before opening the device.

The screen got purple after few month when Switch ON the camera n face down.

Wastage of money

My camera does exactly the same thing. I'm going to attempt to get it warrantied through HTC. What a shame.
