then how do i take the picture? that's the question. can i take a picture using a button other than the one on my touch-screen? my HTC ONE has a power button and up and down volume keys. can i re-assign one of those three to be a shutter when the camera is open?

My mistake. I didn't realize you wanted to take a picture. I don't see an option assign a volume button as a shutter button. Maybe the self-timer option would work better.

yeah...like a ninja!

i think the timer would be too restricting. i was able to keep tapping the screen with my thumb during this shot, but half were zoomed in by accident. and of course, it's the worst way to hold your phone. i could easily have dropped it. app? anyone?

you can use tap to capture in the settings then you don't have to hit the button, just hit the screen anywhere - hopefully where you want to focus, but should get easy with practice.

otherwise, you can download a 3rd party camera app that allows setting volume to capture. I know FV-5 allows it, although, I didn't like the that app much because it looses burst mode and zoes, it may be sufficient for what you are wanting to do.

Just another thought, a bluetooth headset works like a remote shutter button so if you have one of those laying around it might help your problem.

whoa FV-5 looks legit! i haven't used zoe, although this might be the right application for it. i'll let you know how it works out. thank you!

My htc one (tmobile) doesn't have HDR anymore, it was removed in the latest update, don't know why..

I heard it was a mistake in the update and it should be fixed in the next update (coming soon).
