HTC One Camera Pictures: Show us what you got :D

Re: HTC One Camera Pictures : Show us what you got :D

Does anyone else have this issue. Seems like the flash only really "lights up" one side of what it's taking a picture of. As you can see in both photos the light is more evident on the left side of the photo. Can anyone else confirm that this happens with their camera as well.

The first picture does look somewhat unevenly lit but it isn't terrible. The second one isn't really a valid example as you have a white wall on the left side. That is going to reflect a lot of light causing what you see here.

Do you have a case on the phone? If so, perhaps it is blocking a bit of light to the right.

Re: HTC One Camera Pictures : Show us what you got :D

i hope this doesn't sound snarky, but the flash is on one side of the camera (in 'landscape' mode). shoot in 'portrait' mode if you want the flash more centered (but it's still slightly off axis).

No, that isn't right. In landscape mode, the flash is centered either above or below the lens. It is to the side of the phone, but so is the lens.

Anyone using Flickr for auto uploads? Is there any way you can upload your Zoes there?
I can upload the video the phone automatically makes with all the Zoes and photos, but not specific Zoes.
I only get one photo uploading.
Any ideas?

I'd suggest trying a shot like this in HDR mode. I've had better result shooting photos that have extreme contrasts (lighter subject, darker background and vice versa) with HDR. It's worth a shot...

Thanks, I was thinking of trying HDR but decided not to because my cousin was moving around so much that I though it'd just result in a blur.

that's true. i had it backwards. in portrait mode, the flash is left or right of the lens. i shouldn't post to forums pre-caffeine.

Some amazing scenery shots in this thread, notably from Belhade and haxrnick. My long range scenery shots tend to be a bit dull, a bit grainy and washed out, have you chaps got any tips or were those great shots just taken on Auto? Advice from anyone else is welcome of course!

On a different note, I've got the official 4.2.2 update recently and have noticed a big improvement in overall camera performance.

No I don't have a case on the phone

Does yours come out unevenly as well? Would you be able to post pics from your camera using the flash?

Looking through all my pics I found 2 with flash - this one and another from the same time that looks just the same. Can't tell much from this really, but looks like it is fairly evenly lit. Not a very good picture though. I would recommend not using flash on this phone, but if you must, you must.

Those are some pretty great day shots. Anybody have any nighttime shots that show off the low light capabilities of the camera?

Re: HTC One Camera Pictures : Show us what you got :D

question: on my blackberrys, i could set the button on the right of the phone to be a shutter. is there any option on the HTC ONE or android to add a shutter? i tried shooting this 'from the ear' and kind of failed. it's a pain in the *** trying to pretend you are on the phone and hit the camera icon on your touchscreen without also hitting any number of other things on the screen (video camera icon, zoom, etc). thoughts? suggestions?

thank you!!

You could just...stop pretending to be on the phone.
/snark

Or just leave the screen off while you're pretending to be on the phone.

Or call your voicemail during the pretend call.
