HTC One Camera Pictures: Show us what you got :D

Re: HTC One Camera Pictures : Show us what you got :D

What the fuuuuu lol I cant believe some of these pics were taken on the htc one... incredible!! Why the hell cant i capture anything like some of these photos :( ha

The camera is capable, just have to learn how to use it. Some of these guys can take better pictures with the HTC One than most of us could with a DSLR.

That is why I put no faith in all the camera comparison reviews out there. Most of the reviewers have no clue what they are doing, and have spent almost no time with the phone so they get crap results. If you want to see a camera's capabilities, you have to see actual users pics. And after seeing actual users pics you can see that results depend on the abilities of the user.

Two pics of my dog. The first one was taken outside at 8 pm in shadows. Much more light than there actually was. Second is a macro of my dog in very low and extreme shadow in HDR mode.

But there isnt much in terms of settings, I just point and shoot lol I don't quiet understand what they are doing differently but wow @ some of the pictures taken

My pup. Her white is a bit blown out because I had to grab my phone and take the pic in the few seconds she decided to sit still. Pretty impressed though. Also, I have my camera set to -2 sharpness to compensate for HTCs over aggressive sharpening algorithm.

Part of it is know where to point. Part of it is knowing how the light is going to affect the shot. Also, you need to choose the right point to focus and set exposure. Focusing on a darker area will result in more exposure, focusing on a light are will result in less, etc.

There are lots of settings to use. ISO, white balance, you hvae settings for video capture mode and settings for photo capture mode, plus the different scenes in photo capture mode. Daylight pics can turn out just as nice as the 13mp pics from the other devices if you take the time to adjust your settings. I adjust white balance and ISO. And keep messing with them til i take the pic i like and thats the setting i'll use. But if you just point and click and expect it to be perfect you're going to be disappointed most of the time, i've noticed. So i just started adjusting settings and it really does make a difference.

Re: HTC One Camera Pictures : Show us what you got :D

I will admit that some photos are nice but its very hard to conclude that the Camera is a step up from the EVO 4G LTE

You're trolling under the wrong bridge pal. Move along now...

Re: HTC One Camera Pictures : Show us what you got :D

How am I trolling? That is a honest opinion from a current EVO 4G LTE owner that is still debating whether or not to upgrade to the HTC One
In regards to picture quality I don't see a vast difference
In regards to software of course the HTC One is a step up from the EVO 4G LTE

I dont think it will be a step up in good light but in low light performance the One with larger pixels and OIS is definately a step up..

Another snap taken today. Very impressive.

BTW The shots of my dogs and cats are amazing and blur free every time.

Re: HTC One Camera Pictures : Show us what you got :D

Thanks
Yeh the One does take great shots in low light settings
I'll probably end up getting the One but may switch up in October when the Note III comes out.
I have had every single EVO up to this point. haven't had a Samsung phone since the Instinct

The One takes better pictures in 99% of the pictures you would actually take. It does just fine outside as long as you make sure to focus on the right areas. Its certainly better than the Evo LTE.
