HTC One compatible with Android Auto?

Just purchased a new Honda Civic and installed Android Auto, but the app will not perform the set up. The bluetooth is connected, but the app does not work. HTC updated with Android 5.0.2

I didn't know there was more than one type. How do I find this out. I do not have the M9 or A9. My HTC is one of the first that came out, and now it is ancient history

Go to Settings>About Phone>Model Number​ and tell us what you see there.
