HTC One earbud jack not working after update

Approx 3 days ago my HTC One did a HUGE update changing all aspects of the phone, colours of displays, etc ... Now my jack is not working so my ear buds are useless.
I have checked for lint, and tested the ear buds in other devices and they are working perfectly. No Lint of any kind was found in the jack hole. and the ear buds are seating tightly.
Please Help I think it is a software issue.
