HTC One - Internal storage space

So I just downloaded an icon pack and an alert popped up telling me I have 2.33mb of internal storage space left. When I go to my settings then select storage, it says I still have over 18gb available of internal storage remaining.

Any idea what could be causing this?

This is going to sound like a really dumb question, but can you confirm that you have the most recent HTC One, and not a One V or One X+ or any of the older models with a One in the name? I see in you signature that it says HTC One, but I just want to make sure, because older phones have their internal storage partitioned into a couple of different areas, while newer phones (like the current One) don't.

I got a notification the other night after installing some apps and got a warning that I had 1.95GB of phone storage remaining. However, I too have about 20 gigs of free space on the phone "SD card"

Try rebooting the phone and download an app and see if the same error occurs.

I didn't really interpret it as an error because it still let me download and install the app and such, but I'll see if it pops up next time I load an app.

Yes. I have the current One. It ended up being the Goolors icon pack app. I deleted it then reinstalled it and got the same low storage warning. Couldn't even download any other apps. So I deleted it again and tested a download with a game that was 1.08gb and it downloaded just fine. Even tried with 6 more apps and had no issues. And just to check again, downloaded Goolors again and got the same warning. Weird.

Same here. I just recently started getting this alert every time I install an app. Even though I have 48GB of available storage space. I have no idea why.

It could just be a glitch with the apps not liking the newest android update? I've never experienced that and I'm on 4.2.2. Could be a 4.3 issue?

I'm on 4.2.2 as well.

Its a glitch. I had about 5 aps update and while watching them i saw MB and GB reported. Not at the same time but one app might finish and show GB, then the next app would show GB..

I just updated SwiftKey and it said I only had 4.87 mb internal storage left but have 22gb or so left. I've never seen it before updating to 4.3. Very strange!

I had this glitch on 4.1.2 and again on 4.3. I don't know what's causing it, but it doesn't seem to be causing me any problems other than a slight annoyance.

I remember from reading some other forum that this notification is actually generated by ES File Explorer application, not the system. Please check if it is the case here.

A thread on XDA developers has confirmed that this is a glitch introduced by the ES File Explorer app. There's a setting in there to monitor the free space, but that'S buggy, and even with the checkbox unmarked for that particular setting, it still gives the warning every time you install an app.

There has been or might be an update soon, the other fix is ot uninstall ES File Explorer.

(Sorry, hadn't seen magellan_pg's post..)
