HTC One (M7) fell into the toilet. It is now stuck restarting over and over.

Tried to factory reset but the phone restarts before i can do it. Phone is now dead but will charge up randomly and repeat the same process. Tried plugging into my laptop but the restarting will not let the phone even be recognized Should i just forget about it or is there something i am missing?

Here's an old wise tale...I mean if you really want to save your phone it's worth a try. I've used this method several times because my 3 year old daughter thinks it's amusing to throw my phone into water...try putting the phone in some rice for 24 hours...do not remove it for at least 24 hours... just the phone...not the battery..make sure the phone is completely covered in rice...it's like a 50/50 chance it would work...I'm not saying it will, but like I said it's worked for me a couple of times. Good Luck!!!

The more you fool around the more you lesson any chance of getting it going again. LEAVE IT OFF!

Since it does not have a removable back and battery it's too airtight for fixes like a bag of rice or a dry box to do any good.

Your best option is to take it to a cellphone repair shop and have them dissemble and dry it out. Charges for that are in the $50-100 range.

The sooner the better, the longer it's wet inside the more likely damage is permanent. And leave it OFF!
